Ok Ken just for all of us, tell us your steps!!! We know how you did the body work, and we know you sprayed on primer sealer??? Then you wet sanded with like 1000???? And then they resprayed sealer before paint. The paint looks really deep so I am just wondering how many coats of paint and clear and how did you prep in between???

Wiped down old paint with wax and grease remover, 180 DA sander before primer, then 3 coats high build 2K primer, blocked out with 600 wet (used SEM spray on guide coat), then cleaned and wiped, and then cleaned, then after that cleaned a couple times and wiped and blew out every crack and crevice, then cleaned again. Pulled into booth, wiped down, tack clothed it. Sprayed sealer coat, then base coat, 1500 over dust nibs wiping after with tack cloth, another coat of base, 1500 again ....then 2 good wet coats of clear.

Thanks Dave, I wish I would have had it done then. And I wish I could have been there for more than just the dyno day. I wont start any projects next spring;)

Got my suspension work almost done the last couple days. All the cam bolts came loose after soaking for a day in rust penetrant:):) I replaced the front lower ball joints and the lower control arm bushings in the rear, and installed the coilovers. I need to adjust......not sure exactly where to put it....seems too low in front, dont know if I can fit once fender liners are in, front bumper has 4" clearance. I need to look at some other cars and see where they sit. Anyway.....first ever pics of red rocket lowered!

Looks like still a lot of work remains..............I can't wait! Lookin great so far. But I almost gaurantee I won't be driving to Chicago to see it next year. Maybe flying, but damn that's a long drive.

Can you show a picture of how you have those fog lights suspended?

Scott, look at the first pic in post #273, the lower support bar for the front bumper has tabs on it for the fogs....and also for the intercooler.

now we're talking! that beast is down in the weeds where it belongs now! should look awesome with all the body panels on it. I love that you took off all the body panels to be painted, you get extra corner coverage that way. When I did my bumpers I did the same thing, definitely worth the extra time.

Thanks guys, I can find flaws....with anything, it's my nature, but I'm happy with it. Did the alignment today so I can put the bumpers on tomorrow:)

YA, the paint goes well below anywhere that will ever be seen, it gets covered by the bumper. I masked evrything from there down to protect the tank, exhaust, etc. from overspray.

Ya, I'm diggin' it. I had it sitting next to my black one today and it looks soooooo much better that low.

I didn't intend to go that far tearing it down, but having that much work in it, might as well go all the way. Way worth it though having all the jams and everything exact match with zero tape lines.
