The Pagani is a little out of the price range that we are talking about.

The Z06 will walk that R8 easily. ZR1 would have NO problem.

But by your definition of "walk" you mean in the quarter mile or in a Highway pull and if these things honestly mean that much to you, you're far better off dumping a fraction of that money into an old Foxbody Stang or something.

You don't spend $80k on a sportscar just because it will do a 1/4 mile run faster than the other $80k car, you spend that money for the complete package of owning a car that is on the cutting edge of technology.

Anyone that says the Corvette isn't the complete package needs to get their head examined...

The new GTR is a total waste of money. All the motors are hand built, so upgrades and power outputs vary from car to car. The trannies all built specifically for the car they are mated up with and can't even be swapped into another GTR. And WTF is up with Nissan building a new generation of sports car that was once hailed as the most tunable car on the market and is now a car that if you modify it in any way you can get sued for doing such a thing. Hell, the bastards sued Mines for trying to improve the car. WFT Nissan???

Yep, have you seen the turbos? The entire manifold is the exhaust housing making upgrades rediculous...

Don't get me wrong, the car is nice, but I really think they're fucking up in how their treating their customers. You guys can say they're abusing the car, but I see bad publicity that's going to hurt sales...

SVT motors are hand built as well as the ZR1 motor...they don't have hardly any difference as far as output goes. Why does the GT-R?

And I would honestly take the Z06 over the GT-R any day, even if it is on the "cutting edge"...honestly if the "cutting edge" is breaking transmissions and not being able to use the car the way it is meant to be used, then I want nothing of it.

Pretty sure the Z06 will take the R8 on the track and highway but I haven't really looked into the R8. The Corvette is the total package and the best bang for the buck hands down.

I've seen power outputs for the GT-R vary from 433 HP to 520, both bone stock. WTF Nissan??? They remind me of Ferrari, both Nissan and Ferrari sue people for modifying their cars, but Ferrari actually lets you drive their cars the way a sports car should be driven. The only Nissan I would buy would be older Nissans that don't have warrenties, like 240's. I have lost all respect for Nissan thanks to this BS.

hay guys, lets just put it this way, the car is fast, yes it is, but ONLY ON THE TRACK, unless some company out there finaly figures out how to crack the ECU, the car is just like every other stock JDM car out there.. and thats the final word, even for the states witch is the worst part about it.

No offense but where the hell did you get that information. Yes the engines are hand built which means they don't go down an assembly line. They are built in 1 station....
The GTR already has upgrades out there released.. The Trannies are the same part # and aren't specificly made for one car... Whomever told you that is going to burn in hell for lying...

All the false statements about the car not being tuneable or modded is bullshit. I really hate to be the one comming off as "taking" nissan's side because I hate nissan's with a passion because I work @ nissan but these statements I see online are just rediculous and childish to say the least.

It's all speculation. Just give it a few more months and years and you'll be seeing this car put down some good numbers with the right combo's of performance modifications. But I assure you much like the TT Z's of the past it will be a big PITA to work on!

As far as hp rating goes the spec-v gtr suppose to be between 520hp-550hp.

So whomever told you about the varriances in hp because of it being hand built is burning in hell to when they die. But if that's the case not every car off anyones production line is going to pump out a consistant hp # and every car is going to be the same. I know of a few mustang GT's previous gen to this latest gen that came off the production line that pump out more hp then most GT's did. They are like needle's in a hay stack... I have personally came across one that's faster then most in town that have intake and exhaust and his car was bone stock at the time.. Crazy yes but it happens in everyones production lines.

I'm not attacking anyone and honestabe no offense at all brother don't think the whole reply was aimed at you I don't wanna come off as flaming ya or whatever.

But everyone needs to wisen up and use a little bit of common sense. Most of you that work on cars and been around dyno's know every car is different no matter what.. What makes you think brand new cars are any different?? Come on fella's just think for a little bit...

Yea New Edge Mustang's had a few freaks that came off the assembly line. Some with up to 15 more HP stock at the crank and no one can explain it.

The Spec V numbers are kind of disapointing actually...So the Spec V will only have the same HP as a Z06 with SLP Lid?

yes but all speculation so far. There has been talk about 600hp but i'm not saying it's all set in stone. Guess we'll see when my certification test comes out for it or when the car gets released...

I am GTR certified... LMAO like I sound important now..

You missed the rest of it...They gave the C6 a nice track review but Clarkson hated driving it on normal conditions.

Complete package to me and many others means, track, drag, and DD.

The C6 harshness was attributed to the rear suspension set-up and the run-flats they tested it with.

First thing most Corvette owners do is scrap the run-flats and it rides tons better. Same way with my GF's Mini Cooper S, we took off the RFs and it was a TON better.

The rear suspension is a modified leaf which is a lot harsher then most would think but allows the C6 to handle very nicely. It is due for a redesign though. Look for the new ZR1 suspension in the following years in the Z06s and Z51s.

How? Ferrari have a Launch control limit before voiding the warranty too.

I'm seriously surprised this is the kind of reaction you guys have given by import car owners to what is by far the most exciting "import" to hit the market in years. I must check that I'm not on LS1Tech.com :biglaugh:

Not everyone wants to go fast in a straight line. Nor does everyone want to start modifying a brand new $80k+ car, I know I sure as hell wouldn't.

You could build a supra for $40k that would destroy the GTR in the quarter , and then build another one that would destroy it at proper racing (you know, where the tracks have corners ;)), but it wouldn't matter as the GTR can do both of these things damn well. The GTR is the total package at half the price of a comparable exotic
