Sometimes when wires arent broken, the pins also back out of the connectors and make intermittent contact, check the harness side too. I really doubt its coils, even if one is bad id should fire and miss. When its dead its prime time to troubleshoot, push the cps wires in toward the connectors from both sides. Also check for oil inside of it.

ok, well as per usual, the car started right up this morning. And again when I got home (operating temp) Im gonna throw some parts at it and see if I can at least narrow it down.

Anyone else think maybe the AFM is suspect? I am pretty sure now that its not a fuel issue. Smell fuel when Im cranking it. Im thinking it has spark. Maybe it doesnt have hot enough spark but I do have some spark when its not firing. Havent done a compression check yet, but when its running it runs fine, so I suspect no real issues there. The only thing left is airflow right?

Also I finally got a look at the turbo and its toast, fins are damaged and there is side to side shaft play. So I guess im in the market for a new turbo. If anyone has something that would bolt up LMK. I suppose I could consider getting this one rebuilt? Unless I can sell the 89NA, Im on a very limited budget.

I saw the seller posted about a similar problem a couple months ago and some people suggested the AFM. I've got a spare AFM we can chuck at it to see if thats the problem.

I can't recall on the supra, but most cars will go into limp mode if you disconnect the air meter and let you rev to like 2000 RPM or so. If it does it again, maybe try disconnecting the AFM to see if it'll go to limp mode?

I had this problem before and my problem was that my cps was on the way out. it would occasionally not run at all but still come up with spark. so I replaced the cps and in the process replaced some of the wiring to the cps as well. problem solved. if yah wanna try that route we can work something out to get you a cps for less than the dealerships cost of $750. I got like 3 of them laying around my place.

Oh god, dogs in car = Bad idea. One of my supras was filled with dog hair when I bought it. and it took forever to get out.

Sorry not my choice. She either rides with me, or tears up the house (seperation anxiety real bad), and since its not my house...

So, Im really liking the name Lucy for her...The car that is. Seems to fit her.

Spipedong is the MAN! hes gonna get me hooked up with some new used parts and see if we cant keep the bitch on the road.

Anyone got any idea what kind of HP gain an otherwise stock GTE (with both cats still) will get from the new DP, 3" exhaust and cone filter intake? maybe an extra 10?

Edit: ohh and this weekend Im gonna start on raising my cowl on the hood 2 inches!

a true 3inch , you will probaly see more around 15-20 all depends on how the intercooler pipes are and weather or no your leaking..

i did notice that with the larger exhaust i build boost alot sooner. and with no bc i cant get no less then 10 psi, well part throttle, wot it pegs 10 and some times creeps to 12-13. through shifts. Autos FTw

i have a spare hood i was wanting to attempt the same thing on, let me know where you cut it and i'll maybe try it a little different to get the same product.

any ways. enjoy!

ps, i'll probally going to make a couple of copies of my ic pipes, if interested i could make them into 4 peices (when ever this happens.) that way you could get away from the stock plastic stuff

Could it have just been vapor lock? Hot car, long drive, try to start after short cool down could have been vapor lock. just a suggestion. Good looking car though, good luck.

Beautiful car Weez, love the RED:thumbup: ....Is that an A-duct with the bumper support still behind it?? If so, that's pretty funny.

No its an A-duct with the bumper support cut out and a mesh grill in it.
Actually considering the hack job on the body and paint, the FMIC job is doen pretty well...too bad I hate it! Anyone have a smaller one they want to trade me for?
