If it had a full tank, I'd put a guess toward a vacuum lock on the fuel. Will go away with time or it is prevented by either unscrewing the cap at the time of the problem to allow the vacuum to resolve (you hear it when you gas up - if you gas yourself - not in OR though) or getting a vented cap and tossing the charcoal canister and it's related crap.

Ok, so Soup wanted pics. I went to a park to take some go to drive it back home, guess what...FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT TURBO!

So it sat all day there and I just came back from trying it again...no luck

I ran through the standard stuff again, no real luck. I did notice the wires on the CPS were taped so I tore into that but I cant find any breaks in the wires, but the wires going into the plug look frayed a bit. They are still making contact Im pretty sure, but maybe frayed enough to give me a bad signal? I dont know, its raining and dark and I will go fuck with it tomorrow.
when I tried to start it the last time, if I upened the throttle all the way, it kinda sounded like it wanted to fire, just not enough to run. Also when I crank it I smell gas pretty strongly from under the hood, dunno if that means anything. I had been leaning fuel problem earlier today, but now Im thinking CPS/coilpack.

I hope some jackass doesnt try to break into it tonight, cause its in a really dark place with complete privacy for someones tom foolery. :icon_evil

Im really just too disgusted to post the pics I took. I already hate the car! Im just sooo bummed out. I mean I sold a perfectly good running dependable DD NA, and got this piece of shit, REDHEADED BITCH! Anyone have a good name for a redhead, cause shes acting like one for sure!

I dont get it...would you rather A) drive your boostless supra or B)have a dead one that "could" boost if it ran?

Im going with A...but I already know some of you would actually pick B, LOL!

I dunno, its just so disheartening to go from running to nothing, TWICE, in the two days Ive had the damn thing.

^^lol...that is what turbo Supra ownership is all about!! I would know...at least you got to drive it before you decided to buy, and got to drive it at least part of the way home...I bought mine w/out ever driving it, and had to tow it 70 miles home, where it sat for almost three weeks until I finally figured out how to get it running. Then once you got it running, you notice immediately that it has a bad BHG :nono:...I also went from a perfectly running, reliable NA. My point is...be patient, it will run! (eventually...lol)

Did you check the codes before you left it?

My boost is down right now. :icon_razz
Of course by choice this time. It is disheartening but once you figure out what's wrong you'll wonder how you ever went without it. :icon_bigg

heh, my sis picked up my first 87 turbo... (i wasn't there) got a bhg on the highway, evaporated all of the coolant, and continued driving till it didn't... i never even got to drive that car... and the 89 i drove for about 2 weeks before the motor blew (also not my fault)... but 2 years of bad luck, and it's all gravey now... well worth the pain and suffering :biglaugh:

yeah, its not throwing a code. Im gonna get some coils shipped in. Anyone got a CPS they want to part with cheap? (unfortunately I cant build one from stuff I got at Home Depot! :naughty: )

I think Im gonna name the car "Lucy" Its got triple meaning. Lucy is short for Lucille as in Lucille Ball...a crazy redhead. Lucille is also used in a song that goes - "you picked a fine time to leave me Lucille". Finally With a red car, The name Lucy could be short for Lucifer, and I swear this car is possesed!

Also my white 89 is named "Lady" so I would have Lady and Lucy. Damn, Sometimes I think shit out too much!

You can have a CPS pick up problem with out a code. It isn't easy, but it can happen. If the STA signal is also absent, and you have no pickup, as far as the ECU is concerned, you are simply key on, engine off.

Have you bothered to check for spark? It is the easiest check, and gives you a starting point.

I'm serious. Did you check the tach while cranking it?

Also, I'm parting out an entire 7MGTE... including ignitors coil packs and CPS....

I'm getting a list of all my prices together, but since I kinda owe you a windshield, I think I can give you quite the discount lol

also, whatever parts I have that you need to borrow to troubleshoot are yours to borrow if you can get them :)

whoops, my CPS wires are cut too. I broke the goddamn plug. :( Works fine though, just needs a little solder lovin. It came off a 91T in the Albany Junkyard

heh, that would be sweet, and since I sold the car with the busted windshiled I DONT need that, but a coilpack and a known working CPS would be sweet (I dont mind soldering the wires), might even come pick some other parts as well if ya got anything I can use.

You gonna be around tomorrow..

bleh..PM me your phone number again and I'll give ya call tomorrow sometime. Might need the parts to get the car home, if she doesnt start in the morning.
