it won't end with a bang...

it will end with a bang if we all blow up the world's firepower in roughly the same 10 minutes or so....
then again it would probably take less than 5 percent of the worlds firepower to do that. you get my point :biglaugh:

if we know how its going to end, what could we do to stop it? except sit back and watch. Id rather just not know the end was here. And you know, your right. You cant be worried about stuff like this, or eles youll turn into one of those street people holding a carboard sign with a date on it and yelling about the world coming to an end.

heh....that just made me think...i wonder if it would be worth the 5 seconds of my time to tell a person doing that something to the effect of...

"stop telling us this, we know we're all going to die, and you waisting cardboard and pens is doing us more harm than good."

or are we confident most people doing this are certifiably insane or troubled enough not to make small attempts to slap them back to reality... that is, without getting them in a good mental institution and giving them a BIG slap. Figuratively of course.:icon_bigg

Meh... what's one more black hole amongst billions.

You could say the same thing about a crackhouse. And, like a crackhouse, the closer it is to your backyard, the bigger the problem... :icon_razz

I believe it's the Andromeda Galaxy that's hurtling toward us.

I also don't believe the universe will 'go out' in the end. Here's my theory:

1) Stars take light weight elements, undergo fusion, release energy and create heavier elements.

2) In the final stages of a star's life, they are creating elements like Iron from fusion. Eventually, there is not enough energy released by the fusion, to keep the star from collapsing under its own gravity.

3) Star collapses into a dense little bastard.

4) Keep in mind, Humanity has been evolving for millions of years more in the meantime.

5) Keep also in mind, that matter and energy can neither be created or destroyed.

6) I think what will happen, is that we'll figure out a way to harness the gravity of these dense stars, to create energy. Or, we'll figure out a weigh to break these clumps of super-dense mass up, run it through a fission process, and break the mass back down into its constituent components - allowing us to eventually create our own stars, our own planets.

probably not, at that point they are to invovled in their beleifs. Their beleifs are reality to them. Only thing you can do is pass judgement, or ask yourself "why?" and try to figure out whats going on with that persons head. Either way, at the end of the day, they will still think the world is coming to an end. I wonder where they get their information from??
