Hell no. Got it from a vendor that frequents our medieval fair that comes around once a year. He's a blacksmith in Michigan. I paid $300 for the sword. Quite a steal, in my opinion, after seeing the quality of it. (when you hold the sword properly, it feels weightless)

Also picked up some 'show' pieces, and a couple of amazing throwing daggers for the wife.

I wouldnt worry about invading aliens. If anything, we will be the invading race, probing away at the nice peaceful aliens, who want to show us some really cool shit. Last time i checked war was a product of mankind

you didnt know that, duh:sarcasm: .

I remember see a discovery channel episode about these monkeys that would kill each other for territory and actually eat parts of their enemies . Pretty vicious.

we're risking the implosion of the whole fucking planet including the imeediately surrounding universe...and you guys are discussing alien v.s. human psychology?

we're doomed.

by the way, has anyone else taken a moment to think about how large the implications of this experiment are? Sure its not a world funded thing (as far as i know i didnt read the article), but I am sure a majority of the planet it risks dstroying doesn't even know about it or have a say in it? despite the fact we all live on this earth and many physicists think we're signing off our planet in the name of science, only to not be alive to see the results?

nice.:biglaugh:

I'm sure everyone was saying the same thing when they tested the very first particle accelerator...

I'm sure it will be fine.

If humans always stood in the corner wondering what could happen to kill us, and never took any risks because of that, we would not be where we are today.

i still dont see the point. If the world ends in 2008, oh well, atleast we wont have to see how bad us humans can really fuck up this planet

maybe learning something about the beginning of things will help us learn about what might cause things to end.

but yeah i was just kidding... its an inevitable advancement. only time will tell if its a good one but i'm not worried. :p

Wouldn't it be GREAT if they actually figured out how to harness zero point energy?

Zero point energy is theoreticly true and could allow nearly infinate energy to be taken out of space/time itself...

Not to mention that they're trying to prove Einstein wrong, like he proved other wrong before him... We have been able to make a light ray go faster than the normal speed of light. Now, can we make normal matter go that fast?

Time is simple another dimension that we don't see in any other way but linear. Time travel tears that apart and allows crazy paradoxes.

The only way we understand is from experimenting...

if we know how its going to end, what could we do to stop it? except sit back and watch. Id rather just not know the end was here. And you know, your right. You cant be worried about stuff like this, or eles youll turn into one of those street people holding a carboard sign with a date on it and yelling about the world coming to an end.

it won't end with a bang... it will end with a flickers as the last star dies and the lights go out...

everything is difting away faster and faster, we know how the universe will end...

Keep in mind NONE of us will see this as there are quite a few things that will destroy our planet first...

Look at this site. These are the outcomes of our existance and what could destroy us. Hopefully we won't have to suffer any of them in our lifetime...
