Mike: are you sure it was an AUG? Last time I looks they weren't available in the US, but there where a few companies making copies.

The STG 556 is one of them, but it's getting bad reviews everywhere I look...

And of course, after shooting, what are we doing?

;)

You can see the 4 pistols in the household pictured there. Ruger SP101 (DAMN FUN WITH 125gr .357 rounds!), Ruger SR9 (both Rugers are the roommate's), then you have Laura's M&P 9c that she's in love with, and my own XDm that I'm in love with :)

Still want a P2000SK for my carry, though. Or a K9 ;)

Nice find Mike. I know I love to open carry my 9mm here in Washington without a permit (although I still want my concealed carry permit). Did you guys know that over 2 million crimes are prevented every year just by the victim pulling out their gun?

Today I drove to work with $400 in my pocket, and ready to drop it on a new Remington Spartan 20ga side-by-side I found yesterday, after reading enough to convince myself that they are reliable and affordable, even if they're not the prettiest SxS's around.

Halfway to work I ran into (tapped) the guy in front of me when some idiot stopped short and wouldn't turn off. This afternoon I deposited the cash into my checking account, met the guy I hit, and wrote him a check for $373.39 to cover repainting his bumper with the quarter sized area of cracked paint that I caused. Sometimes shit sucks. :(

Being honest and accepting responsibility doesn't suck. Sometimes it hurts, but it doesn't suck.

You sir, are an honorable man.

You can buy an AUG here. They did make semi versions. I've handled them and the STG556 and the STG556 feels just as solid. I've seen nothing but good reviews of them so far from people that actually own them. ::shrug::

Neil is dead on. Steyer started selling them here in the states in April of 08.

Just got home after we went shooting. Just finished cleaning the guns.

I'm off to bed - later folks.

Me and my father are looking at picking up a shotgun for home protection use. I went up to the local dicks sporting, and saw a couple Mossberg 500s. My question is that if we were to purchase the slugster, would anything come bad out of firing burd or OObuck out of it, being that the barrel is rifled?

It's not very recommended. at the very least, you get an undesirable shot pattern. Much wider than you'd want, plus there are potential issues with the wad. Although, M500s are very customizable. Barrel swapping is very easy.

Aside from the price of slugs these days, i usually prefer them over shot. Shot puts lots of little holes in things (unless you're close) but slugs put real nice big holes in things.

Oh how i wish the UK adopted the Czech Line of thinking....

We used to think like that. Still do in some places, but not in others. It's primarily the overcrowded coastal cities that latch on to the illogical and ineffective liberal gun grabbing bullshit.

It's truly amazing too, because the statistics universally show:

Crime goes down when guns are easy to get legally.
Crime goes up when guns are illegal, or difficult to get legally.

If the goal is reducing crime and making everyone safer, why do they keep passing laws that do the complete opposite?

I'm starting to feel that this may have to happen here too for people to wake up.

Here its not quite as lax as the Czech system, but still people don't care if guns exist or not, it's not really a problem and the people are educated enough to know that criminals use illegal weapons 90% of the time anyway.

The area in which i live, has so many armed people (mostly farmers with shotguns and rifles), that honestly, the extent of crime in the village is people having their plant pots upturned (not smashed) by the local kids.

I leave my front door unlocked, my car unlocked, i have no need of a security system. My security system is a Beretta 92FS, a Walther P99 and a 12 gauge.

I never understand people like this. I have heard people talk about "I live in a small town, everyone knows each other. We don't lock the front door or car doors and leave the keys in the visor."

It may be a sign of living in a nice place, with upstanding [read: not criminal] citizens, but why do they brag about inviting this kind of chance? Seems a touch ignorant and naive.
