I've got an extra fork that has the pin and clip in it you can have. I'd be happy to drop it by the shop and check the car out :)

The rear is finished, the mock up drivetrain came out today so that the front can all be disassembled and painted.

Looks like I'll be able to get a 285 tire in the rear.

I picked up the engine from the machine shop on Monday night. I'm assembling it all this week and should have pics up by the weekend.

Last night I pulled the Centerline Wheels off of my MKIII to use for wheel fitment.

We ended up being able to fit a 285/18/40 in the rear and a 245/17/45 in the front.
These are the wheels that we decided on, mainly because they fit the 70's era of the body. The centers are satin silver, and we were thinking of painting the chrome bumpers to match. Sorry it's so short and sweet, but that is all I have for the moment, back to work for me!:biglaugh:

Great looking wheels! It's unfortunate they're going to cover up so much of the brakes though, because they are just as pretty:icon_bigg

My thoughts exactly dugums. I wanted more of an open wheel to showcase the big brake kit, but Spectre liked these most because they fit the era of the car, and also because they already have 5 cars with 5 spoke wheels. I really do like these other than that, they remind me of an old Bonneville Saltflat Racer.

5 lug = 5 spokes

'nuff said...

Though I think it would look cooler with tuner wheels on it since it's kinda got the "two worlds collide" feel to it with the CF cowl induction hood. Though it really is their car in the end.

You know I'm just playin Lance, but in all honesty I thought George's 92 was going to win one of the prizes just because it's so clean.

Poodles, no tuner wheels on a Maverick. It's written in stone somewhere......I'm sure of it.....:biglaugh:

Thanks again for all of your help Jeff. JAWSGEAR helped us out tremendously on the 9" rear setup.

It wasn't the case that it was interfering with afterall. The housing itself is thicker in the center than other 9" in the shop, so we had to modify the mounting bracket.

It seems that most everything in these type of builds needs to be modified one way or another.

What's up guys? Sorry I haven't posted in a bit, it's balls to the wall on this thing. The chassis is pretty much done, waiting on my ass to solve the pieces to the JDM 2JZ puzzle.

On the chassis, we've pulled our hair out trying to make the coil over kit work. It was designed for a Mustang, and sure enough, we had to do the R&D and figure out the main difference in the Mustang and a Maverick. The Mav was alot shorter, so the back seat was stuffed right on top of the rear end. We finally decided that the only way to make it right, was to start cutting. (See first picture)

The engine is out of an Aristo, so it only took me 4 tries to figure out that Toyota made 3 different water pumps for the 2JZ, plus each pump has it's own rear housing, plus each housing has it's own water pipe. I now have 7 of the 9 components, yet in the mean time, the front of the engine still can't be assembled. Oh well, once again, today the guys at Boost Logic bailed me out, thanks a million guys. Hopefully, it goes in the engne bay this weekend.

Wreckless (Jeff) is going to fly in next Thursday and help me wire all of the Fuel Controllers, ECU, etc. into the 2JZ harness, so it definitely has to go in before then. Plus I'm sure we'll get to hang out and enjoy some Texas BBQ and hospitality.

Oh yeah, about the Purple oil pan, I brought it to the Grim Reeper to do the mods to it so that it would clear the frame rail. That's how it looked when I picked it up!:biglaugh:

More updates soon,
Lance
