haha, usa
haha when did this happen? I had something similar happen to me about 3 weeks ago.... Story:

My friend and have been goin to a large school parking lot at night every time it rained and would drift around for a little bit. The last time we did it, I was riding shotgun in his car and the cops came.

We were going to get off with a warning because of family members in the government and me going into the navy and such, but something happened....

The lady cop that was going to let us go was talking to us for a while. She was out of her car for a while talking to us and someone must have asked if she needed help. She didn't hear the question so another cop was sent there to check everything out and make sure she was ok.

When the 2nd cop showed up, he found the situation very wierd and instantly pulled us out of the car, hand cuffed us, and threw us into the back of the cruisers.

Turns out, they have been getting alot of vandilism at that school. People breaking windows and stuff all outside at night. The principal was pissed and ordered the cops to arrest anyone that they find there in the future.....

Long story short, we got arrested for trespassing and my supra was impounded. We went to court and got off with a noise violation.... phew.

This story did not cost $2145 though... I only had to pay $120 something for the supid noise complaint and $75 to get my car out of the impound.

Easy fix if it hasn't been done already. If you are on private property and you are doing dounuts or burn outs its nothing more then a " BREAKING TRACKING TICKET ". Just go to your boss say you got itchy footed see if he will udnerstand have him write a cheap letter stating he let you do that and its all dropped and you can learn from this and get some tein's.

I have gotte permission from many places like " WAREHOUSE" with big parking lots to drive do dounuts & burn outs in and if a cop comes have that paper that says you can do it and your good untill its 10 then its a noise hazzard :)

Unfortunately you are all right (somewhat)..

If the building / parking lot you were playing in is covered under local fire jurisdiction, or deemed as "commercial" by local zoning laws.. The local police have authority in that situation. The only legit way to do drifting in a parking lot that falls within these types of guidlines is to apply for an event permit, and section off or close the parking lot to public access.. These laws vary city by city, but the process is universal.

Now a grey area that I have always wondered about is land / parking lots that are zoned as industrial. :naughty: Usually they are all fenced up though. And it is ALWAYS the right of the owner to persue defacing/damage charges against you no matter where you are.
