It would be worth taking to court and trying to fight the ticket, I agree cops are within their right to issue a ticket, but that does not always mean it will hold up in court. :dunno:

All right guys,

I’m a security guard part time while I go to school, and i guard a big open parking lot....

Now the thing with open parking lots is... Endless fun for the FR crowd, but it is also a very open place to be seen.

Any ways, I was just getting off from my shift, and I decided to slide some circles around a light pole in the lot. I was getting my drift on! After i was just a big white cloud of smoke, I see the worst thing that could happen... Red and Blue flashing lights! Fuck...

I got a fat ass ticket for wreck less driving, having a CA license while driving and living in AZ, no proof of insurance, and a diff address on record (OOUCH!)

The lesson in this story is not just "Cops are Dicks", but even though the temptation may be great, the consequence is not always worth it!

I got busted for 2145.00! There goes my Tein coils:icon_frow
this wouldn't of happened to be in a scottsdale parking lot area would it? Near a high end parking garage?

moral of this story: dont smoke pot in a private meth lab, especially if you plan on drifting.

id fight the ticket through mail, if you can. if not, around here we usually have a 60-40--70-30 chance of cops showing up in court when you fight the ticket.

...or call the court and request delays. Maybe by the time you make it in, they'll not penalize U as muh. Oh yeah... get rid of the lab, stop smoking pot, and don't kill anyone at work ;-)

When they resurfaced the lot where I used to work, I'd take the kids out there on rainy nites and put some g-force on the Sup..... they loved it. 'Til this day, they kinda stiffen up when it starts to rain while we're in the car ;-)

Dude seriously if it is on private property it is up to the owner of that property whether or not its ok. Police officers cannot enforce driving laws in parking lots. How do I know, a buddy of mine was hit by some old lady in a walmart parking lot (completely her fault as he was at a stop). Cops came, they told them that since it was a parking lot they couldnt enforce anything and that my buddy would be responsible for the damages to his car and the old lady for hers.

Its different if your doing something completely wrong, such as pot (but i dont see anything wrong with that hehe), meth lab or murder. But Ill be damned if Im in a big ass parking lot that I own, or someone else that has given me permission owns, and doing donuts powerslides, whatever and the cops try to give me a ticket. Id fight that till my last breath. Just like rakassan (sp) and the others said, you dont see people getting stopped at drag strips, drift events, or autocross events so why should this time be an exception because the cop was pissy.

1Tuff is correct in this case.

Running a meth lab is a felony, even so, they need reasonable grounds or a search warrant to come onto private property to enforce the law.

Breaking traction is not. They only have the authority to ticket you for traffic infractions on public roads - meaning, those owned and maintained by the government. Now if you were in a public school parking lot, you're likely screwed anyhow. There are hundreds of examples of this - everything from driving dirtbikes with no license, insurance, or tags, as long as you aren't on the road, to racing at the track - if they could bust you for breaking traction on private property, every drag racer who spins his slicks before a pass would be facing the same kind of fines.

Even so, with a ticket that big, you need to fight it, that's just ridiculous.

See, that's what I was thinking, what GrimJack said.

Killing people, smoking pot, doing meth, all that shit is NOT burning out on private property!!!!

Are you trying to tell me if I had a huge driveway and I was burning out on it the cops could come give me a ticket? I DONT THINK SOOOO!!!! ( I said think, not know :))

I work in the Circuit City Roadshop where everyone has nice cars... on warm summer nights we will all gather in the parking lot (the store is on the main street in Spokane) and just hang out... the cops try and remove us a number of times but since we all work there *including a few managers* they can't kick us out... laws may be different there but I would fight every single one of those infractions
