ok, i was at the junkyard saturday and a guy pulled a slave from a jeep and it looks like it would fit the t56 perfect, but its plastic which i dont like. sooooo, instead of modding the r154 slave to fit i figured id give this slave a try and did some searching. here is what the jeep slave looks like that is from the same jeep as the clutch arm pictured earlier.
then i found these 2 threads that shows how to make a metal slave to replace this pos plastic slave.

heres what it looks like after completed except ill make an adjustable push arm for the rod end of the slave that will hold the stock plastic cap so it wont wear out the clutch arm
and here it is installed ont he jeep. some guys grab the single action and some the double action. i will likely grab the double action and put a tiny bit of fluid in the secondary side then a 1in long fitting or so wit ha cap on it. the air will compress allowing it to work but the tiny amount of fluid will keep it lubed on that side as well. longer life. these peneumic cylinders are ~$18.00
and for the guys worried about what fluid would work on the nitril seal in the clyinder its been found dot 5.1 fluid will work and is compatable wit hthe rubber of the stock master cylinder and this cylinder. my mk2 master is a 5/8ths bore and the slave is 3/4in bore so it should be ok. im gonna buy the 3in stroke one to be safe and once its all hooked up ill install a clutch stop on the pedal if necc. if i went wit hthe internal slave from tilton id have to install a clutch stop anyway. also, for the inlet im going to use a t fitting so i can install a bleed screw to make it easier to bleed the system.
