i know this has been pondered many times now, and i'm just trying my hand at it. please shoot this idea down, stomp it, flame it, and correct it, but im thinking i have to figure out everything im doing wrong before i can get one right.

could I:

run a supercharger mounted (with a fabbed bracket) to the throttle body bracket bolts?

have it draw air in from the typical intake/afm?

run the air through an intercooler?

bring the cooled air in through a ffim?

of course, the bracket would need to be figured out and id need to work out the belting for it.

what all do i have wrong with this plan?

yea.. its possible.. probably not with the stock AFM tho.

Personally I don't like the idea of a supercharger because it robs horsepower to make horsepower. Turbo's are far more efficient and make for better top end. Its all about your goals!

Oh, and for a supercharger you probably wouldnt need a FFIM if you ditched the AC and put the supercharger there, ran the outlet to the side to side IC and follow the stock path to the TB. I'd like to see it actually.

i was just trying to figure a place to stash it. youd need one hell of a custom manifold for the supercharger placed near the intake mani. although i hadn't thought of right there at the AC

not that i would do it, but just that i could do it. first person on here to supercharge a supra. i know there's that ps'ed pic floating around here, id like to give people a real pic or two for bragging rights.

theres a local guy that is going to go the sc route too. i think mounting it on the pass side and running it over to the stock turbo mani using the turbo afm as it is setup for a f/i. i would run a ffim as it would simplify the overall setup and you could keep the intercooler then ala srt6 setup

id hate to run ic piping from the passenger side supercharger to the ic and then back to the passenger side to hit the throttle body near the driver side. nightmare.

those are the only two i know of. im with you kai, ive been wondering about supercharging for a while. it has its own pros and cons, just like turbos. when i do upgrade however, im going to turbo due to lack of money to experiment with a supercharger

I come from a land down under
I have a really well equipped machine shop here at home and I bailed on the SC idea after buying a unit and test fitting it in the Mk3.
(I would have to have lost one of the Mk3 features to make room for it)

power steering is great at the low speeds, but the mr2 feels...connected...at highway speeds with no power steering.

^^Power steering shines in low speeds. When I went through my period of no power steering (in my Supra)...low speed = t3h suck...anything above 10mph felt like driving a regular car
