Ok I am normally not one for labo door on a supra however my buddy pointed out he thinks itll look sick if the were suicide lambo doors (he does that kinda stuff for a living so itll be custom, but professional. Suicide lambo meaning itlifts the door from the front of the car toward the back rather than the back toward the front. Mind you they will come outward first then lift, as we all now the MKIII has a wider arse then front. Whaddya guys think of that?

Uhh lame. It would be retarded to get out of the car every time. Just think about it. you would have to lean forward just to get out. It is more retarded then regular ones.

Sounds cool. I would prefer just Lambo doors. Not sure on the suicide though. I thought about lambo doors a few years ago, but thought the price would not out way the coolness of it.

How much? If you don't mind me asking.

They are OK. Just got to do what you want not a bunch of other people. I think the a70 is one of the best cars I've seen with this mod done to it personally. Tekedus wanted to do it, not sure if he still is. Search "Project Cherry Widebody".

Here are some famous Suicide door MKIII's in Japan ( Which IMO look better then almost every US car I've seen ):

about 800$ he aint charging me for labor and he would have gotten it at cost but now hearing these guys i am prob not going to do it, and by the way you wouldnt have to lean forward to get out, take a look at the fact that your door extends probably about 4 inches behind the seat at its farthest point back, you would be able to do it np. and not have to lean forward, as it is I already have to duck to get out. (I am 6'4" tall) it was an idea...
and it would be the reverse direction as the one in those pics, and come to a 90 degree angle....erm debating it, we'll see.

Ugghh, Lambo door are awfull, esspecially on a daily driver. I have installed a buch of them and did some R&D work for the LSD Brand, it takes about 1-2 full days of work on a bolt on application specific kit, and could take up to a week for one of those universal kits. Then you have a very heavy bracket and doors that just flap around in the wind, the Supras doors are VERY heavy and you need a strong shock to hold it up and its trickey to get the right balance of enough strenght to hold the door up but not too hard to close. The doors also never close right afterwards and will have wind whistles and water leaks.

In my professional opinion I would never install these unless they were a specific kit, not a universal kit. and not on anything other than a show car that doesnt get driven much. Which is why I reccomended to Tekdeus about not installing them on his car.

Well thats definitly not a mod for me then, i like my targa too much but the only way I can see doing that is to mount the lifters on the floor at an angle but that would limit your ability to sit in the car. *shrugs* i might do my suicide door idea, i might not, we will see. ill let you know in a few months.

Based on looks:

It has potential to be cool, if the rest of the body isn't too... umm... flash and glam. If you know what I mean. Getting too carried away with body work would ruin the focus. Alot of those JDM lambo door cars look awesome.

There's a few things I'd think about... getting into the back seat would be a whole new world of hurt if the door intrudes into the door frame in anyway, which it no doubt would. If it's 90 degrees up and back of the car door opening, reaching up to close it will be quite an exercise, and any coolness you gain from having backwards lambo doors will be lost in the eyes of onlookers as you struggle around to reach the door that's behind you and above you to get it closed.

Honestly, lambo doors can be cool, when properly done... it's just that they have a bad rep from being mixed with horribly overdone body kits and tacky paint colours.

As for practicality, I'm inclined to agree with Randy...

Better idea: Don't do anything to your doors. Lambo and suicide doors are for minitrucker homos and riceboy fags.
