The F-body guys are running engines that are inherently imbalanced. I6 engines are a very different system. The vibration with solids isn't bad at all - it's a lot better than a FWD DSM with one solid one stock setup.

This is seriously subjective. I put poly bushings in my car (front only so far) and I don't know if I can handle the added vibrations. I'm afraid when I get the rears in I will hate the car.

The idea of solid motor mounts, to me, is not a pleasant one. I guess I will buy some poly mounts and hope I don't end up hating the car.:( I guess these are the sacrifices on the way to intermediate power.

I dunno about subjective, it's rather easy to measure.

For instance, my buddy with the DSM - at idle, his keys bounce around and cause a nasty racket, his rear view mirror shakes badly enough that you can't see through it, and anything loose in the car will shake. When he had TWO solid mounts, it was nuts.

My car with solids, at idle makes no additional noise - no key rattle, my spare change in the coin tray doesn't move, I can see out the mirrors perfectly.

The Supra with solid mounts is absolutely more vibration that stock, however, it's not even close to the nuisance it would be in most other vehicles.

With my solids the only time i get vibrations is at a stop in drive (im auto), in the door panels. its only when stopped in drive at idle. Any other time its unnoticeable. If im driving its smooth and if im off idle or at idle in neutral. If i were 5 speed id never get a rattle.

I agree ..... my supra feels good. It is as smooth as my maxima.

I rode in a big single mk4 supra w/ solid mounts the other day and it felt like stock. The only motion I felt was from the bumps in the road.

What cranks are you guys running and has the motor been rebuilt and balanced?

Mine's not nearly that smooth...
6M here. The motor has been rebuilt, but not balanced. I've also had the mounts for longer than the motor, and it felt the same on the old setup as well, which was a 'from the factory' untouched bottom end.

have gone through 4 SETS of 89+ mounts, including 3 brand new ones from toyota. Started ripping them off at 1.960's and maybe 350whp. Swapped in BIC solids, and OMFG i should have installed them at the swap. The only "annoyance" is at lower rpms under load aka <1200rpm, when you first start it up the entire car shakes liek your driving over the rumble strip, but than at idle and driving you can notice the vibration but can easily ignore it, and if you fade the clutch at a normal 1000-1300rpm it shakes the car like at the start, or are in gear that low. Honestly not that bad at all. I have a Cam's 1j tho. the 7m does run a tad rougher.
