Just a neon on crack is all that car is, they really aren't dependable engines. Chrysler hasn't done very many things right as far as mechanical designs go. They sell looks, nothing else. They have proven to be able to sell cars to people before ever taking a test drive... I am talking about the PT Cruiser. The GT version has the SRT engine. IMO the engines are junk. The engine is sold based on the horsepower - but you never hear a word about how much torque it has.
The SRT4 is ugly, and nothing matches up on that car. So they give it this humongus spoiler, what the crap for? It is a FWD vehicle, spoilers are made to provide downforce for the REAR wheels, not the front... but the very truth of it, aerodynamics do not kick in til your doing 150+mph.. thats been proven. Then you got that sweet hood scoop.... man, that counts for major horsepower gains. So lets go all out, and get a carbon fiber hood, so we can get some more horsepower!
Its ridiculous how many college students own these cars. Their parents do not know any better, they see it as a neon that their son happens to be in love with. If it isn't their parents paying for it, its borrowed money... and they got it all setup on a lovely payment plan where they end up having to pay like 4 grand more in the long run, for a car thats real value is probably only twice that.
One with low miles you can pick up for 15-18K.. get it on the lovely payment plan, your looking at 18 -21K.. by the time they are onto their next car they get a trade in of maybe 8K if they are lucky. Thats just stupid math for you guys, I don't envy the kids with the sweet rides, or the kids that think that they have sweet rides... I buy older vehicles, and turn them into what I want them to be... and build them to outperform the vehicles that cost more than what mine ever did.
Overall opinion.. those cars blow, and the people that drive them = have small weiners. (got that from someones signature with a Porsche on it, I thought it was cool)
