I am not saying I don't believe you, but I need to see pictures of the probes to make this a little more believable. When an officer deploys a taser, a report must be written, and the probes turned in for evidence. Bring on the pics.

Trust me, I am anxious to get that picture and post it. Anxious to get a lot more info on this.

The only fact in your story is you weren't there, regardless of what may or may not have happened you, me, and nobody else on this forum was there to witness it first hand, theres your story, the cops stroy, your dads story and then there is the truth wrapped up in many persepctives. I understand your anger but presenting 3rd hand knowledge from one side of a larger story is ignorant plain and simple.

I know I'm a prick for not jumping the cop bashing band wagon or the pro cop bandwagon, I choose niether because this is pointless when none of us have even halfway decent information.

Also use of force standards for missouri as well as other states states for a patrolman a taser may be used to force compliance from someone who is not complying with an order/command (aka get in youre car "answer of no = taser use"). Remember that when you decide you don't have to listen, just because a command isn't what should be done or what you feel is right does not allow you to argue it on scene, theres a reason you arent allowed to just do whatever you want, and some people in thier 70's even can still fight pretty good, operate a firearm or knife, or even have warrants out for them.

The taser is not as painful as you may think, I won't say its not because it does hurt, but if you are tazed (probes sticking in your skin) that form of the device is to disrupt your muscular control causing incapaicity with mild to moderate pain, dry stunning (basically like stun gun sticking on ur skin and firing) is pain only compliance and much harsher than a normal taser use, so it coulda been worse, had he not had a taser he may have maced him, beat him, shot him etc who knows.

Thats my 10 cents for this post go ahead and bash me for being the devil's advocate so to speak

I'm just giving him time to sleep in after his trip yesterday. Then I'm gonna get some 1st hand info from him.

EDIT**********I personally don't particularly hate cops. This cop, maybe so.

EDIT #2*********I work with my possible future son-in law. He was there when the story was told. He has just told me he knew about it, and he did see the probes. I will see these very soon I'm sure.

I've been noticing and reading an alarming abundance of articles claiming and raving about a recent surge in the amount of trigger happy cops with tazers in their hands.

Coincidence? Probably not.

I haven't been able to get my Dad to answer the phone today. Maybe he's still sleeping, maybe he's out consulting with a lawyer, I don't know. I did talk with my Mother at work though. She tells the story pretty much like I heard it, but gave me a couple of details I didn't get earlier.

1. The traffic stop may have been justified. The road is a 4 lane, with a turn lane in the middle. He lives on the right hand side according to the direction he was driving, and the lodge is on the left. My Mom says that the cop said he cut in front of him to turn into the lodge, so it probably wasn't a following too close thing. She doesn't know for sure, but I'm guessing he was in the right hand lane, and moved across the left lane in which the cop was driving to get into the turn lane (assuming he used it). So ya, I don't details exactly on that, but could have definitely been a justified stop.

2. The Tazer use could have also been justified. My Mom doesn't know if he approached the cop car or not when he let the cop know he was going in to use the bathroom. He did disobey the order to stay in his vehicle either way. He was tazed on the front steps of the building on his way to the bathroom.

She did reaffirm that he does still have the Tazer leads. And, she did say he is going to see a lawyer about the episode. He was not cited for the driving part of it, and was apologized to by the cop for the LONG delay that caused him to disobey the order.

That statement is so ignorant I wont even try to justify the point :nono:

How's that? So, they get into shoot-outs everyday? If that were the case, most cops would be moving on to other careers.

Wade, a cop has the possibility of being shot in the face every time he asks for license and registration. In todays world some of these thugs don't have time to wait for their ticket........and they damn sure don't have a conscience. Hell a cop could get shot just for driving around in his patrol car. This is why I'd never never be a cop. This thread should show you just how much cop hatred there is out there.

Before you go and light me up, my grandfather was Hawaii Five-o, and my cousin is a Seattle cop. I know what your saying but I'm ojecting to the media-like sugar-coating that every day cops face death. Most cops will never be in a shooting their entire career. The overwhelming majority of the time they don't do jack squat but drive around. And I'm tired of it.

If I had a nickle for evertime I get followed home and almost harassed by local police...

Homicide detectives I do have respect for.

should have listened to his orders.

the entire thing could have been prevented if he listened to the cop.
