Well, Not Exactly a good one. But be gentle, its my first time at the drag strip. ever. I ran a 14.903@100.75mph with a .883 reaction time and a 2.781 60'. I want to get there more often. If i can get the reaction time down to like .5 and take a half a second off my 60' i can be around 13.8 or so @ more like 105. This was also a go off a wave. Tree wasn't on.

Mods: 3" elbow, 3" hks replica dp, 3" test pipe, Tanabe hyper medallion cat back. K&N cone filter, Greddy profec e01@12psi with stock CT26. BFG g force sport tires on sawblades. Spec stage 3 clutch.

Clock starts when you move, not on green. But keep at it :) nevermind, going with the pinks start??? :runaway:

yeah. the good ol pinks start. My first run i dropped at 4krpm, wheels hopped and it popped outta 1st gear. 2nd run i dropped at 2krpm and it bogged . There was no time for a third run, track was closing. Im gonna work on launching at 3000rpm and bringing that 60' to where it should be. even if i get it to like 2.2 or so that should help alot.

UPDATE!!!

Ran again tonight.. got a much better launch, car felt great. It was nice and cool for the turbo :icon_bigg

sm_photo_missing.jpg

I am much happier with this, but i only could get 1 run in :nono: Launch rpm was much better but i could have gone higher with it.. 2.459 is a better 60' but i'm shooting for 2.0 which will probably land me in the 13's. Oh and it was on the tree this time, so my first tree experience thus the r/t.

Mods: 3" elbow, 3" hks replica dp, 3" test pipe, Tanabe hyper medallion cat back. K&N cone filter, Greddy profec e01@12psi with stock CT26. BFG g force sport tires (225/50r16 front 245/50r16 rear) on sawblades. Spec stage 3 clutch.

A 2.0 60ft will land you mid-low 13s. Are you bogging the launch or spinning? If spinning are you get wheel hop? Oh, and for some reason I was underthe impression that a .400 is a perfect light, but maybe that is only on a pro-tree?

.400 used to be perfect on a pro-tree. Now (at least at all NHRA tracks) .000 is perfect whether on a sportsman tree or a pro tree. The delay is still the same from amber to green, .400 on the pro, and .500 on the sportsman.

So let me get this straight.
You want to make the Supra something it was never meant to be?

A Supra is a big car. Deal with it.

It's all about the power to weight ratio, my friend.
If you're fascinated by going fast with NOT making much power, but just being in a big go-cart...Have at it. Everyone has their own cup of tea.

I, on the other end, enjoy making BIG power, FEELING that big power,
and knowing that with a big car, I can still stomp on 95% of the cars sitting next to me.

And since you absolutely have to throw that sweet Honda running a 13.9 in there.....

I ran a 13.76 with the simplest of bolt-ons (exhaust, intake, etc) with my big heavy, stock Supra. Pretty slow for an 80's car.

Jeff

PS - You don't like your car for what it is because it has a long door?

Bogging, The first run i ever did, i launched at 4000rpm and it hopped really bad.. I'm under the impression that i need the traction bars that a1 racing offers.. i just need to get a paycheck that doesn't go down the drain for bills so i can get my hands on them.

by the time i get to the track ( i head up after work ) i only have time for 1-2 runs, so tuning my launch hasn't been easy. I'm working on it, and Ive made 3 runs so far. a 16.xxx (wheel hop launch, popped outta 1st gear) 2nd run was a 14.9 (2.9 60'.. major bog launch) and the most recent 14.3 with 2.4 60" with a 3000rpm launch with a tiny chirp and medium bog. I keep improving, just gotta keep up the trend. My tires are also at 90% tread depth, if i keep toasting them up ill get better traction as i go.

I got the LIPP Supra Sport traction bars. They helped a lot with the hop, but I still get it sometimes. My best 60' is still only a 1.89 but getting the 60' down has got to be the cheapest/quickest/easiest way to knock down your ET.

MP T-61, crower 272's, 680CC injectors, Lightweight flywheel and driveshaft,
Nitto street slicks, HKS v-pro base map only, 18 PSI on pump gas

60' foot times are low because this was my first day at the track with the setup. I recently swapped a t-78 for a t-61 and 3.73 LSD to 4.3!
I also did not have a launch control so that was launching under vacuum from 6500 RPM! The nitto's hooked, however my driveshaft's Ujoint exploded on the 4th pass. I also believe i shredded the diff and then snapped the shaft.

My plans over the winter are for a meth kit, proper tune, and a bit more boost.

Well done! You know you are fast when you start breaking parts. Old rule of thumb.

Hey guys, I finally made it to the track before the season ended and was pretty happy with the results. Im on the left lane.

My mods are: Stock ct@14 psi, Lex/440s, an ebay dp with no cat and a blitz nur spec exhaust, and on 245/50/16 street tires. I still need to work on getting the 60' times down but I think a set of drag radials or slicks may be needed. The 111.98 trap speed also put me 9th on the 100 mph club for the import class at the track.
