^wrong its 10 degrees, you should have 12+ degrees advance.
http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM/ig/IG_20.html

ummmm it will be 12 when your car is runing aka 12

cause if i set mine to 10 it will not avance it self to 12 druing ideal

i sean about 5 supra that do this and about 2 that do raise timing druing ideal

so call it asyou may you cheak it it should be 12

oh yae your waste gate might have nasty crack in it or you lost the c clip toy ou waste gate

according to TSRM you keep the car at idle, jumper the connector and turn the CPS until you get the notches to line up @ 10 degrees. then tighten down and remove the light.

After removing the jumper the timing should go back to 12 degrees.

I know its not the wastegate as the turbo came off my supra which was running and boosting 17psi the wholetime.

^firing order according to TSRM is 1-5-3-6-2-4. Unless someone has some proof of this being incorrect..

Too Young = 15
Too Old = 36
Just Right = 24

Too Young Too Old Just Right :naughty:

and from what ive heard 1,5 and 3,6 and 2,4 can be swapped out so you could have 51, 63, 42. But i could be wrong..

stupid toyota for doing that, thanks for pointing that out :)

So looking at the firewall from left to right it should go 1,6,3,4,2,5
correct?

Clogged Cat?
A Ha It WAS, I gutted it and now i see higher boost, but all of the other problems still exist, I also replaced the Injectors with a friends know good set, agian i feel it helped, but the glowing red turbo still scares me. So it seems everything i do helps, in fact i can actually accelerate and keep up with traffic, before that was a bit of a problem. so today ill do the fuel filter and test the IC hoses. Thanks for all of the suggestions ill keep you guys posted with new findings and hopfully a fix.

Wel thanks....I told mike i wonder if it is 12 deg, but we were like nahh.. do you think 2 degrees can raise my egt's to total meltdown temperatures? :aigo:

Sorry, couldn't think of the right words. If you have TONS of fuel dumping through the system and no boost/ignition/rpm to burn it, it tends to burn in the turbine housing or exhaust housing. This causes some wild egts.

Dont think that is the case, i figure id hear that blow...When i had the full 3in exhaust the car would not only backfire, but also blow out blue flames (very hot), i feel it is lean, i spent my entire saturday looking for a Fn fitting to hook up a Fuel preassure tester to my car, i have like a million ideas, but no one carries metric stuff. i shall attempt tomorrow as well, i hope it is something simple like fuel filter of fuel pump, both of which are cheep parts, none of which are easy to install. Wish me luck, :drink1:

Everything I've read here leads me to think you're lean too. Seems like a big pirate air leak somewhere.

Peak EGT occurs at stoich and falls off either side as you go richer of leaner. Reminds me of when I used to fly big piston powered turboed airplanes and when we dialed the mixture back to peak egt (for fuel economy) the turbos would glow cherry red. It was scary looking at night.

You've got a 60-1 on that thing and no way to measure fuel pressure? Yikes. If you don't find a fitting next time you have the CSI bolt on the fuel rail off drill and tap it 1/8 NPT for any fitting you like. I have a quick disconnect on mine.

Well I'm a wuss, i too the car to Toyota, all they had to say was TPS, that was supposedly messing with my timing and everything else, so well see after i get the TPS put in if all is good.

Wish me luck boys, this is when the money flys away.

Any update on this?

Yea turned out to be the TPS, i got a bran-spanking-new one and all is good...Well for about 5 min till i blew off the IH hose...lol...supposedly the TPS caused the ECU to do funny things with the fuel and timing...i dont know the details, but i did notice the turbo a bit red still...I keep this updated as i find out more.
