I figured you were going jz I saw all your stuff for sale haha, looks good man I'm doing research on the cost right now. Going single?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah, still have some parts left but seems no one is interested when it comes to paying.

So far the 7m has funded the jz swap but still have a few parts to buy

Going with a billet 67/71 holset

I don't, I'm going to reuse my 7m harness that I made awhile back on the new setup

Any updates on the build?

None lately, I just moved to a new house with a bigger 15x40 garage. Now I actually have space to work..

Also got my air compressor, welder and press out of storage and all wired up

Here's how it sits so far, pulls amazing at 18psi with the hx52. Can't wait to see what it puts down for numbers.

Nice and clean.
Good work.

Really like that log style exhaust manifold over the other designs.

I feel like the log manifold will be more Stout and less prone to cracking than the thin tube manifold I was running prior

Cleaned and conditioned the leather interior today. I also put some of the conditioner on the vinyl dash/door panels. I wonder if it will keep them from cracking a little longer...I like having my minty dash

Also put a stiffer spring so I can run more boost. I just found Sunoco 110 off the pump about half hour drive from me for the same price I was paying for 100 in town

I have 100 about a minute from my house @9.99 wish they would have listened and got e85 instead. There is a shop 40 min away who has 100 for $5 though.

You guys haven't had any issues with the ethanol eating away any aluminum inside the engine / intake?

Ethanol is not overly corrosive by its self, especially in E85 form. Regular fuel is actually just as corrosive. The problem is the water content that ethanol attracts, being hygroscopic, which can cause corrosion. Methanol is more corrosive than ethanol though.

Methanol on the other hand is quite corrosive without a PH balance, a small percentage of water will help balance that out. Keeping ph levels down around 8 will keep aluminum from corroding.

Aluminum is generally very good at resisting alcohols

Yeah just curious on that, have seen some older engines having long term compatibility issues with ethanol.
Could be from methanol injections systems or water in the ethanol.

Just wanted to get a take from people that are actually running it.

Anyone have a boroscope they can stick in the engine for inspection?
I have one & they are a nice little tool for this kind of thing.

The mkiv and evo guys have been running e85 - e98 for several years now and I have not heard any bad reports. The biggest issues I have seen are not e85 fuel lines and injector o-rings failing.

There is not a single e85 station in eastern WA or North Idaho anymore to my knowledge.

It's looking really good. I'm interested to see what the new set-up will put out. Btw, what numbers you put down before the head lifted on the 7m?
