today i got some stuff done ive been meaning to do all week.
my electric fans were previously wired to stay on all the time when the key was on.. so i junked that setup and did it right with a thermostat, relay, and fuse block.
now that fans actually turn on and off when they are suppose to!
greddy type RS Bov and boost controller hopefullying going in soon along with a small odyssey battery to accommodate my custom FFIM!
should be done in a week or so, i cant wait! allows me to keep the ac and alternator in the factory location i just need to relocate the battery.
since ill be running the ffim i ditched the cruise control. new oil pressure, water temp gauge came in. still waiting on my 2 pod lotec pillar mount.
decided im going to run my oil press and water temp gauges in the gauge cluster, wideband and boost in the pod, then my EGT right in the center where my weideband currently is
oh i see you got some push lock fuel lines nice I just picked up all mine 160 bucks for the fittings and then 35 for 6 feet of black push lock -6. Cant wait to install mine.
Did you pay to get your pod color matched? I did and they said their paint guy was out so I told them to just send me the default one. took them a week or so to get back to me.
I went with the gray one I think they'll have to match the color since it was an extra 9.99. It sure is taking them awhile to get it shipped out though that's for sure.
I usually go through driftmotion and they get their stuff out asap
I was originally using maft pro before the aem. I actually ended up switching from the aem to ecu masters det3 for cost reasons and really all I needed was fuel and timing control. It's only 450 and zach is very helpful!
Wheels are 18x9.5 +12 and 18x10.5 +22. Fenders are rolled with a slight pull in the fronts
so how do you like the det3? Have you installed it yet? I was going to get a map ecu 2 for some car work or I was going to buy the det3 not sure though.
So far the det3 Is more than what I was expecting. It was super easy to wire up and very user friendly. The Maf to map conversion is literally just a right click on the screen.
I haven't setup timing or boost control yet but I'll do that in the near future. For being a piggyback, I'd say it's one of the better piggybacks out there and is only 450 for the 4 bar ecu.
The thing I liked most about it was the size. It's super small and fits in my hand. Doesn't take up a lot of room so it can be mounted just about anywhere
got some things done today while the weather was nice
went to the exhaust shop and had some 3" piping bent and welded for my exhaust along with a 4" muffler. for how big it is, its a pretty deep tone and quieter than my hks hi-power muffler. i can also hear the turbo whistle a lot better through it!
bought some stainless 2.5" IC piping so i can make my own piping when the custom FFIM comes in the mail.. the guy told me it was just about ready and just needed polished.
supra sport was actually pretty fast at shipping the 2 pod pillar to me. i just got an email today that driftmotion just sent out my CPS cover today.. both were ordered at the same time. hopefully its just becaust aaron was out of stock at the time
oil is changed using Mobil 1 Full syntheic Turbo Diesel Truck Oil 5w-40 with a k&n filter.
i also scored a lightly used tial 50mm BOV for 125$...couldnt pass that up!
more parts! scored a 50mm TIAL Bov on the facebook page for 125..cant wait to weld it all up along with the new IC piping when the FFIM comes.
just got word that it will be shipped out Wednesday to me! Cant wait!
new water temp and oil pressure gauges are installed in a NA cluster so I can run a volt meter. i put my AFR and Boost gauges in the pillar pod,
and will be adding my egt gauge on the steering column or in place of the cigarette lighter spot. i havent decided yet.
I was surprised at how well the paint matched my factory color. Not bad but I guess it wasn't very cheap either.
I'm thinking about recirculating my wastegate but I love the open dump pipe too! Yep that's for my turbo drain, it's - 12 high temp hose with heat tape wrapped all around it. Haven't had any problems yet and drains way better than that - 10
