yes youre right. I guess thats why everyone cant seem to get this swap done because of the pilot bushing. what parts did you purchase? Do you have part numbers or from what vehicles?

Yep. Who is interested in the proper pilot bushing? I have drawings made and I am going to have some made up. I am not sure about cost but most likely in the $30-$40 range.

I am fairly certain that the engine and trans sitting in my garage are going to be the guinea pig on this one.

Does the Novak/ chev bellhousing have the exact same dimension as your advance adapter setup?
Idk if I'm clear......like straight edge off front of the bell/ measure how much input is sticking past that imaginary line?

Don't think a bearing would work better?

If I could find one possibly. In the whole bearing vs bushing debate it seems that they are equally weighted.

I haven't been able to find a .471" x 1.09" bearing anywhere. I haven't had the chance to chase down a bearing supplier yet. Maybe I will try that now.

Look for my ls/154 post. I asked exact same questions not more than two months ago :)
I've just obtained the main parts for this and I've got my tranny tore apart at the moment so it'll be awhile before I get down
To the nitty gritty on the rest of this swap.

Give me od, id, depth in mm and ill get the bearing. I've been waiting to get mine closer together to get proper measurements but if you've already got it figured out I can get it. I work maintenance at a food processing plant and we have thousands of bearings in stock and we can cross reference any dimensions to

.471" ID x 1.09" OD and for the bushing I was going to make it .75" deep.

In metric 12mm ID x 27.686mm OD x 19mm deep.

Get me a bearing and I will see if it works.

In the past if I couldn't find the correct OD I've made sleeves to suit.

I am not going to sweat it at this point. If someone can track down the proper bearing I will try it but I get more material for a bushing next week and this time I am going to get it right.

The last bushing would have worked if I had double checked the ID. It was one of those moments where I was ready to kick my own ass.
