Gonna do it right with the 91 I just got. Moving the 2JZ to it and adding a few goodies along the way...

Oh... I am addressing suspension, interior, and engine... from the get-go (18" wheels, brake lines, springs/struts, rotors, single kit, Dynamat, etc).

FYI....Security has already been addressed, but I'll hang on to them secrets...

Day 1... about 4 hours, including 1.25 hours of runnin' around for brake pads I forgot to already have on hand. Basically stripped out the backseat/hatch are and removed brake lines, rotors, and struts.

DAY 2....
I feel a color scheme comin' on...The blue does not look right in the pics...it's a darker blue and matches the Tokicos pretty well. Also, yes I painted the rotor surface (very lightly) so that it would not rust (like the ugly lookin' ones on my poor old Supie.

kinda chillin' today... Took the wife out drinkin' & dancin' last nite and am just tired today.

I did an initial wipe-down of the interior metal (hatch area and where the backseat was). Cleaned, sanded, and painted the spare tub... Almost ready for Dynamat!!!

That's why he painted them.

Very nice looking car. I'm not feeling the blue though. I would gone gloss black to match the rest of the car. My opinion though.

Yeah, the blue looks better in person. On the wife's MKIV they are painted a lighter blue, but I can't seem to find the cobalt-blue/royal blue that I really like. This was the closest to what I really want. Still wanted to protect things from the elements a little, so just had to do what I had to do. On the other Supie, they are red, but seems like everyone's done that these days.

The paint will only come off where the pad scrapes it off, leaving the rest somewhat rust-proof.

If you look at the pics of the original rotors you can see what happens when the car sits for a bit and is exposed to rain/moisture.

Gonna do small stuff during the week...
Pulling this out of the 90 and installing it to the 91 next weekend'

Satan I - 87T went 1JZ, then got the 90T and dropped the 1J into it.
Satan II - 1JZ to 2JZ (singled and found water in the oil), then back to 7M and 2JZ again.

Satan III - Just gonna do it all from the git-go.

Again, that's the blue I'm goin' with for now. This is more the shade/hue I'd like, but did not find anything local... If anyone knows where I can get it in spray, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise I have to order a paint-on kit from somewhere.

More progress today (I had to work from home, 'cause I was waiting on someone to come fix our freezer). So, I got to do a little here & there... It's a PITA, especially on curved sections. Glad I'm done with the hatch area (for now anyways).

post a pic of the rotors after the paint was scraped off im curious to see it. i did the same thing err well the part to the hub not the rotor itself and it worked for quite a long time, only it rubbed off where my wheel is attached

Yeah, I made the mistake of only doing the caliper and hub parts before, then you still see the rust form on the rotor where the pad doesn't rub it off. So, while it's not my 1st choice of blue, it will protect it so that any rust that forms will hopefully remain unseen. I'll retreat it when I find that perfect-shade.

CK... Man, I was just talkin' w/Josh (TRD87T) the other day and we both agree that the freakin' clutch kit is just too pretty to be hidden by the bellhousing... any chance we can get a custom Clear BH made!?!?!

I didn't think so :-(

We're gonna takle the engine-side of things this next weekend... hoping to be TOTALLY done within the next couple of weeks.

Just keeping ya updated... My brother reminded me I haven't updated in a bit.

I may finish a 1JZ swap inot the old 90, then sell it that way. I was hopiong someone would pick it up and finish it as a complete 1JZ project. Not gonna split it up (yet anyways).

Late last week... sidemarkers, NEW antenna, and hubcentric rings (yet-installed).
