Nah I don't think I'm gonna lose it to the impound. I was thinking about letting it go and moving on,

This is what I was afraid of. If you're still thinking about letting it go at least give the locals a shot at owning/resurecting it. I don't have the money or garage space to even consider it, but I'm sure a local enthusiast would appreciate an opportunity at owning a 1J'd MKII.
If you were to move on what would be your next project? Or are you going to take a break from it all?

Well I just had the car towed back to my house guys. I'll take pictures tomorrow in the light. The inside is trashed. There's a bunch of his tools and stuff. His keys and everything are still in the car. Nothing of mine is in there. He even had air refreshners and shit in the car. I really think this guy thought that the car was his... He completely broke the ignition and had a screwdriver shoved in there to start the car. It wouldn't start but I just think that the battery is dead...it was already low and I don't think he knew about the button you have to press to actually turn the key all the way into the off position. That's probably why he was spotted replacing the terminals and both the fuse boxes are open.

Alright I guess it isn't gonna be that hard to get the parts I need. Found a key cylinder on eBay for 26 bucks or on rock auto new for around 60. Then a battery is obviously not rare lol ill be ordering the cylinder this week and dropping in a battery by this weekend and hopefully starting it up

What's a sim card??

Well according to Wiki it is, "A subscriber identity module or subscriber identification module (SIM) is an integrated circuit that securely stores the service-subscriber key (IMSI) used to identify a subscriber on mobile telephony devices (such as mobile phones and computers)." Cell phone related.

I learned something new today.

Never! I will not turn to the darkside!

Actually, I'd like one of those cool gadgets. My wife thinks they're the devil, and is one less expense we could do without. I actually have a *cough cough* pre-paid nexten thingy. It's sitting in the junk drawer in the kitchen. I used it to store phone number of my contacts, and if I need to look up a number I simply charge it a little and retrieve with I'm looking for. It's my high tech rolodex.

Oh yeah, David, a rolodex is an old tool used by.... aw heck. Here's some info on it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolodex
And yes, I actually had a rolodex when I was in middle through high school. Nobody in highschool had a cell phone. There wasn't internet, email, or texting. We actually used to write and mail letters to each other. Here's some info on that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Letter_(message)

Ah, those were the days. Simple.

Yeah, we used typewriters and those fancy word processors because we didn't have Microsoft Word. That didn't come out until the late '80s, and wasn't part of our highscool curriculum. Of course I took typing & word processing right around 1989 for electives. Damn I feel old right about now.
There was this kid the other day that was shocked that I've never really owned a cell phone. I told him a home phone is good enough for me and his response was, "You mean you still have a land line!?" Home phones are quickly becoming a thing of the past. One of these years phone companies are going to phase out residential land lines. I might have to start writing letters and mailing them to friends again. That's if the postal service is still around.

Oregon trail??? You got me there. 5 1/4" floppy disk, yep, had one for our comuter lab class in middle school. You had to be careful with those cause they would bend easily. 3D phones, what's next?
