yeppp it needed to be replaced anyway that would be perfect.

Idk if they found out or not. I hope they did, but if not I will definitely follow up on getting that tape. If the police aren't motivated to help finding him I'll take matters into my own hands and find him myself lol

Well I got more details on it today, but I was at work so I couldn't go see it. I'll drop by there sometime tonight. But the car was abandoned off kosub rd wayyyy the fuck out on the southeast side outside 1604. I'm hoping that means he drove it out there just to abandon it and it's still in good condition... so they didn't catch the guy but I still haven't been able to get ahold of my detective to go check out that video. I can still follow up by getting that tape and hopefully identifying the guy and take him to court for impound fees and possibly some wear and tear.

Currently it'll be about 160 to get it out and it goes up by 20 bucks every night at midnight, I didn't think that was too bad. But I have to renew my insurance on it to be able to get it out, because I haven't registered it in my name yet...and the previous owner lives in austin

First thing I would do is ask the city pound when did they first receive your car. Then I would get you detective to see if your car was even at that auto parts store. Something sounds fishy.
It sucks that you even would have to pay to get your car out. It's not like you did something wrong for it to land in there. I would see if they'd waive the charges because was stolen and abandoned.

They wont waive the charges. Been through this before and have friends that have had to do the same thing. Its bullshit I know...
But I did find out that they actually pulled the guy over in the car..I can't believe I haven't really been informed of everything. Nobody I talk to really seems to know the whole story...
I didn't bring money or insurance to get it out today but I did drop by to see the condition. They wouldn't let me go to the car but he helped me out and went to go check the condition. Steering column is fucked, ignition has a screwdriver stuck in it. And that wont start it. I'm assuming it still runs just gotta fix the wiring.

Hey if anyone is thinking about buying a air compressor. Home depot has the dewalt 55146 on sale for $299 regular price is $349. I found out the day after I bought it from lowes for $349. So I called lowes up and they price matched it and then gave me 10% off on top of the price match. So I ended up paying $269 before taxes. I saved $86 total. The compressor work Freakin good .

Ok, so I take the Supra out for a drive tonight. I have no intentions on doing any WOT runs. No insurance, registration, or inspection means a one way trip to the city impound. I just wanted to take it around the block a couple of times. I get it half way around the block doing 30 in 3rd gear and realized that I didn't fill the trans up with gear oil after I took it down the last time. So I made it a short and easy trip back home to park it. I really need to get this thing legit before I attempt to put it on the road again. I've been itching to drive this car for so long I can't take it anymore. It's been 10 long years she's been on the road.

Sweet!!! that reminds me I need to put transmission fluid in my tranny because I just did my cv joints in my civic 4 times And the tranny fluid came out. I had to do it 4 times because they sold me the wrong cv joints. The damn things kept popping out so I finally called them up and asked if I had the right ones and I didnt. On the bright side I am now a professional.

Travis what is the purpose for haveing them so low? Is it just for looks?

Yea. Well what they're worried about is looks. Low enough and obviously you get better handling. Too low and you fuck up axles and bottom out all the time.

Hey Travis, any update on the MKII? You're not going to lose it to the impound are you?

Nah I don't think I'm gonna lose it to the impound. I was thinking about letting it go and moving on, but I got some help with the impound fees and USAA is gonna help me out with the insurance I need to get it out. I'm either gonna change my current insurance policy over to the supra for a day (USAA doesn't charge to transfer the policy) or I'm waiting to hear back if they're going to give me a free day of courteous coverage, since it's been insured through them before.

Then I'm gonna probably have to hotwire it myself just to get it outta there and then be on the lookout for an ignition and steering column. And also rewire everything down there as well.

After that...first the diff, then I need to redo the cooling system, valve seals, might as well go ahead and start saving for the r154 as well. It's only a matter of time before another w58 goes out on it

travis: have you rebuilt hawnda motors? im assembling my moms next week.

Yea I've helped build one before. It's been awhile since I've done anything hawnda related though lol. But between a Haynes manual and google we should be covered if you want some help. Just text me, I'm off next Thursday and free any other day after 7
