rufus: i glad you got serious about that cold air intake, i may go the same route.
also if you mount a fan in front of the snorkel it will create a vortex (almost as good as a turbo) and you will have mad air flow!

mike: glad to hear about your kids.......

miguel: i should make it out. its the last sat right?

Like it as in she'd want it for herself?? You lucky dog! Keep that thing and fix it up for her. Is she forgetting about the whole G35/37 thing? How's the Civic going?

NOPE, not for her. She said I could keep it if I wanted. She would never rock a supra, She hates them. She likes the old 300z's.

She getting her is250 soon, she will be getting it when she gets her promotion to assistance store director, or strait to store director.

The civic is doing fine.

Alright guys looking for some advice. I'm leaning more and more towards just going 2jz instead of 1.5jz. Can't decide if I just want to get a new longblock with no miles, completely assembled straight from toyota or I don't know if it would be worth it to get a stage 1 our stage 2 shortblock from titan motorsports. Im not looking for 1000hp or anything just shooting for 500-650. Any ideas? Input? Previous experiences?

you can do 650 on a stock block with no problem.
what do you lose by going 1.5j? you are already set up for it.

just looked up those titan long blocks....holy shit 5k?!

rebuild a stock 2j bottom end and it will only cost you 1,200 at the most.
then spend the other 4k that you saved, on a turbo and getting your head redone.

You don't need a new block like David said stock holds 650. Just buy a jdm, refresh it and you should be good to go. You can even use the engine harness and engine brackets from your 1j. All you'll have to do is rewire your injectors.

What does a new long block from Toyota cost? What comes with it?

Well I can get this stock bottom end brand new for a good price imo from titan http://www.titanmotorsports.com/fatosh.html i'm waiting to hear back from my parts department at work to see if they can get me any better pricing straight from toyota

And I know the stock 2jz block can hold plenty of power but I wanna be able to beat the shit out of the motor...a stage 1 shortblock from titan is like david said around 5k..hmmm and i'll probably keep the 1j head and build that head, but the idea of a full 2jz is still floating around in my head

Speaking of daily drivers. I might get a 91 Supra N/A as a daily driver. Its this old man's (real cool guy I've talked to him a few times) by my house thats now handicapped, he let his son drive it for a month and he recently got shipped out. It has 60,000 original miles, automatic, all stock, after market muffler, and clean as hell aside from some stupid plastic autozone hood scoop the son put on it. Nothing is set in stone yet since he bought it back in 91 and is really attached to it. I see him from time to time outside in his wheelchair wiping the car down. Just the sight of it is damn inspirational!

Believe me I want to get that bad boy!!! We talked today and I got to drive it but he didn’t sound too sure about selling it now. We were talking about the car and how it drove then he started talking about how he really wants to keep it in the family. At that point I was hoping he had a daughter, but no he doesn't :: wah ::

I'm probably gonna have duffin's machine shop do it but they don't port and polish. I need to find somebody that does

And damn that sucks, sounds like a very clean car. Whoever gets it in the end is lucky
