Did you pull a vacuum on the HKS to see if the internal check valve on the diaphram is holding ?
This is a common problem with any used ssqv.
If they were ever run without the filter, fine road grime that makes it past the car's air filter will cause the check valve to not seat.
You need one of those hand pumps for pulling vacuum to check them.
Hook it up, pull a vacuum on it, and watch the vacuum gauge.
If it takes any less than a few seconds to leak down, the check valve has dirt in it.
If it won't hold any vacuum at all, there is a chance that the diaphram is shot.

Special thanks goes out to David and his brother (sorry, forgot your name). I couldn't have drop this engine in by myself. I forgot something though.... forgot to hook up that coolant hose to the hard wrap around pipe. No biggie though. A friend of mine has a set of Snap On long reach hose removal/installer pliers that I can use to put the hose on. Now just have to connect my grounds, driveshaft, etc. I'll be busy for a while.

BTW guys, this is where I got my start. When I was looking to upgrade my supra I was looking for a website that had info on MKIII's. This is what I found. At the time Supraforums.com or supramania.com didn't exist. This did. http://www.supras.com/06/main/index.php

If you do a member search and type my first name in "Rufus" you'll see I'm still in their database. Later I found supraforums.com.... then supramania.com.

I got it last week but didn't have a chance to drop it in yet. I'm in Florida right now won't be back till Monday. I hope to drop it in next weekend. But I might need some adaptors or new oil lines. So I might need to order some stuff. It might take another week after that

My car needs to be broken in but its done. I had a minor fuel leak and that set me back a bit but i took care of it after lots of head scratching. I took a little time off for a vacation and wont be back till about 10 days but I'm down for a meet as well. We can at least go to that burger joint on topperwein on a friday.

I did also, and that was with hard to seat Total Seal rings.
Worked out great.

I've heard of this method but i haven't understood it very well. Do you accelerate the car hard then just down shift keeping the RPM's high?

you dont do much boosting, i maybe maxed at 4psi in my break in.
lets say your going 70mph, then i would down shift into 4th gear and let the compression of the motor slow me down to 55mph.
hell you could even put into 3rd gear at 70mph for a higher rpm.
when doing this your fighting the compression of the motor and forcing the seals to seat in a safe way. (as i understand high boost is not as safe)
i did this kind of driving all the way to austin for a meet.

tyler: your car is loud and i like it!
