Your only a mile away? Come out to the meet then! I may or may not be there next week but idk yet
And I've seen quite a few mkiii's around here recently that ive never seen before

Well... my MKIII isn't running. I work very early on the weekends. I would like to see your car though. When are you guys going to meet up next time? Maybe I can show up early, grab a bite to eat, and meet some of you guys. Do all of you guys just have supras, or is there a mix of cars?

well we usually head out to meets on thursdays and fridays and sometimes sundays, im pretty much the only supra that ever shows up but theres a white mkiv that sometimes does. thursdays we meet up at the academy on 1604 and 281 and fridays we meet at the lowes off of 35 at o'connor after biffs dies down and then you know where mama margies is for sundays. everything shows up and theres lots of cars, especially at mama margies lately and by a lot i mean hundreds literally, when everyone starts rolling out good luck trying to talk to anyone its so loud...
academy is my favorite theres not too many people but theres enough that you see a lot of different cars, theres some grandpa that rolls through with a viper every once in awhile lol. and the lowes meet is where everybody goes after biffs, and its really just where all the hondas go hang out, all of my friends have hondas and its less than a minute away from me so ill usually go

Sundays it is. I just might go down there and see what goes on. It's close enough to home. Are you usually hanging out by your car, or inside eating?

ive only gone inside once lol we usually just chill outside of our cars

ok here we go, first issue. nothing major i dont think but still has me slightly concerned. does anybody elses w58 make whirring/whining/clicking noises
trust me ive searched and read a lot. when at an idle in neutral with the clutch pedal up i hear those types of noises, when i press the clutch pedal in it completely goes away
these noises are not very loud at all and i cant hear them while im driving, but that may be just because of my exhaust and road noise

first i am going to try putting some redline mt90 fluid in there and see if that helps (does anybody know anything of equal quality that i can use that i dont have to order or where i can buy redline locally?)
but from what ive been reading it could possibly be my input shaft bearing which would mean id need to rebuild my transmission :3d_frown:

Mine does that. I never found out what it was. Never been a problem. I put a different tranny in there I'll see if it goes away. I 'll let you know when I get it on the road.

maybe its the heat? idk thats the only thing i can think of when i first got the car i only had to hold the key for like a second
today at lunch i had to hold it for almost three it seemed like. i hope im just being paranoid since ive never had a car that didnt run without any problems lol

Alamo Performance has Redline fluids. Give them a call before you go because sometimes there out. If they have to order it, it usually just takes them a day to get it.

Is the starter not strong enough? or is it more like cold start injector? Mine fires right up.

I thought throw out bearing at first but its doing the opposite of the symptoms of a throw out bearing going bad
a bad throw out bearing will make noise with the clutch pressed in and be silent when let up, mine is the other way around
theres not really any vibrations or anything its just a kinda of clicking/whirring/whining sound and ive noticed it goes away sometimes after the car is warmed up

the throw out bearing spins even when you dont press the clutch in.
i had a 97 dodge 1500 that made the loudest screeching noise wit the the clutch pedal released....the throw out bearing broke 25miles later.
it also had screeched while pressed in but not as bad.

got this ofline
The "throw-out bearing" is the heart of clutch operation. When the clutch pedal is DEPRESSED, the throw-out bearing moves toward the flywheel, pushing in the pressure plate's release fingers and moving the pressure plate fingers or levers against pressure plate spring force. This action moves the pressure plate away from the clutch disc, thus interrupting power flow.

In neutral it made a whining sound kinda like low power steering fluid but not loud at all. no clicking.

I think you have Munchausen syndrome by proxy. LOL
