LOL .... I can speak foo. I just didn't want to bother you coming back from your trip and having to put your kid back in school. I've been fighting this heat trying to get my car running. Turned it over today but have a major gas leak. I beleve I have some bad washers. Compression test looks promising....#1 cylinder seems off from the others. All the rest (2-6) read 150 and #1 reads 135-138. Gonna go find those washers tomorrow. Hopefully have a ture startup. Anyways sorry if you thought I'm not talking to you guys. Since I'm the old man in the bunch this internet stuff and forums is over my head @ times. What happened to phone calls.

Ok people....the old man finally got the car running. I was really amazed that it started right up one the first crank. No smoke, good oil pressure, but didnt leave it on long enough to test to see if the clutch fan for cooling would cut on. Noticed two leaks....1 coolant and 1 oil. Coolant was an easy fix but stupid me (brother in law called me a Rookie) forgot to tighten the bolts on the turbo oil drain tube. Now my knuckles will bleed for this mistake. Just have to finish putting the muffler on, some misc. interior stuff, and im good to go.

Btw....anyone now how to do the helicoil thing? i have 2 exhaust studs that are stripped.

Michael, did you hear somebody talking? :icon_roll j/k
Glad to hear you got it running. About that first cylinder compression coming up a little short, do this. Put a cap full of oil in the cylinder. Screw the comp tester back in and turn it over a little. See if the comp numbers go up, or stays the same.
No vid of the start up or running? Come on! Give us something.

I remember I had a coolant and oil leak soon after my first start up. I completely forgot a clamp on one of the coolant hoses that runs through the throttle body under the intake manifold. Oil leak was coming from my turbo drain line "P" trapping and backing up to the turbo and out of it. I had to take it off and shorten it like I should have before I installed it.

Sorry, I've never drilled, tapped & heli-coiled anything before. It doesn't look like it's that hard to do though. I think there's a "how to" thread about doing it while the engine is in the car floating around somewhere. Let us know how things go. If you need any help just ask. I'm off on weekend again this sign up, but I'll be busy this Saturday.

Well I found my leaks. The coolant was easy...it was the hose on the back of the head....can't believe i missed that one. The other is actually two oil leaks. 1 is from the turbo oil drain tube. It has a gasket (reused from the last last engine pull)and tightened to specs so i guessing the gasket is bad. The second oil leak is from a flange of some sort @ the bottom of the oil filter housing. I guess i missed putting some RTV or gasket on that. I'll try and upload a pic and video of the car running.....try.

Here's the flange...the black cap under the oil filter housing. I can see there's no gasket.

darrell: i think the oil filter housing has an o-ring

It's not the oil filter housing. There's some sort of block off plate below it that leaking. When I put it on I thought about RTV'ing it or make a gasket but I couldn't remember if it had one or not. Sooo now that is leaking I guess I do.

Ok so i got my oil leaks stopped. I'll confess...i didnt have a gasket or any nuts on the turbo oil drain tube. SOOOO Yeahh.....stupid but its fixed. So i have a new gremlin now. Watch the video.

Had a little drip then I tried tighening the hose clamp just a wittle more and that is what i got.

Does anyone know if this makes me have to find another throttle body. See the red RTV on the right side of the two vacuum hoses. It's really loose and i can hear vacuum from thats why i RTV'd it. Im sure it will come off if i pulled it a little.

Easy solution I found for the throttle body PCV fitting was going to AN fittings. Find one at a local speed shop that you can make fit, then get a -6 90* barb fitting (push-lock) and profit! Mine ended up using a M12x1.5 fitting and I used red lock-tite on the threads to make sure it didn't loosen up.

cool...that's a nice solution. I'll check around locally here first before internet it. Probably RTV or JBWeld it for now.
