Yeah, about October.....

I have everything just need to put it together. Gonna change the valve seals, and cam seals today. Put the timing belt on tomorrow and the engine should be complete. I did all I have to do to the tranny, both seals, bell, and bearing retainer. Then Slap them together. Drop her in and mock her up.

Ok, I put in a can of freon in the car. The compressor kicked on and ran smoothly. Put a thermometer in the a/c vent and it reads 50* in idle on medium. So it works. The sight glass is showing that it needs more freon. The two auxilary fans don't come on with the a/c system. However, they do come on when the operating temp of the vehicle climbs. So they do work, but not with the a/c. I'll have to check that out.

I'm off to Darrel's to pick up the brake parts. Thank Michael.

Update: I put another pound of freon in the system and the cloudy sight glass went clear. Auxillary fans are kicking on now. Themometer in the vent is showing 44* at idle. The gauges show that I could use another pinch of freon, but I'm happy with how it is right now.

Brake line is installed. I was going to begin bleeding, but ended up taking my son swimming and playing at the neighborhood park for the evening. I'll get to it tomorrow and see what's up. I'm going to bleed it good with my original master cylinder first. I really believe that the brake fluid broke down after over and decade of sitting. After I've disassembled all of the calipers and cleaned them up really good, I condfident that the brakes should work with the original master cylinder. If it doesn't then I'm out $4.00 of brake fluid, and will buy another bottle. I'll then try the other master cylinder Mike gave me and try again. I just really want to rule out my master cylinder before I replace it. Makes sense to me.

Ok...a little update on my progress (which is almost none). I ordered a HAC sensor which UPS seems to have lost. Got a tracking number that is was shipped but in Dallas warehouse somewhere. I've been driving her a little here and there around the hood but not too much....fan clutch not kickin in completely. So i've ordered a new fan clutch. My suspension is shot so new spring/shocks need to be ordered. I've been thinking of going coilovers and nix the TEMS. I found some intro Megans for about $700 for a complete set. So what do you think....stay TEMS or try some coilovers? I also checked the rotors and they are pretty bad so those will need to be shaved or replaced. I'm getting to the point when i look at her or work on it i hear this really loud vacuum sound.....is that normal. I guess it is with a 20+yr old car!! Its been pretty slow this past week or so....planning my 10th ....yeah thats right.... 10th wedding anniversary!!!! Never thought i'd be here but it's been good.

Michael, sorry don't have an extra one of those.
Darrell, congrats on your 10th anniversary. I would think any entry level coil overs would be better than lowering springs and shocks upgrade. Go for it. That loud hissing might be your IAC valve. That little bitch is loud on my car.

Update here: My brakes work again. Thanks again Mike.

LOL @ Rufus. I meant that vacuum sound as the money my car keeps asking for when I work on it. Like today....i took the tires off to have them balanced @ Discount Tire and I can clearly see that two rims are bent. Vacuum sound. Then I notice that it's not the OG rear subframe with some welding done to it. Hopefully that won't come back to haunt me. If it does....vacuum. But should I expect from a 20+yr old car.... right.

Not goin to Japan just yet, it's still gonna happen but the wife's tour of duty here got lengthened. I'm doin ok, I keep putting off doing the head gasket, the car is no longer running hot unless I forget to check the coolant, but I REALLY need to get it done sometime soon. My schedule is a pain tho, I work Tuesday through Saturday, 9-6. :-/

I'm considering just rebuilding a stock 7MGTE block for now, just do a MHG and other life-extending goodies (ARP hardware, etc), but idk. Now that I'm finally working, finances aren't as tight but we are still catching up on bills. Anyone have a bad motor I can rebuild in my spare time? lol Also, hopefully, soon as I get a new schedule, I want to make it to cars and coffee and meet some of ya'll for real, especially my neighbor, Rufus lol

I can do the assembly of the motor, just need to take parts out for machining

And I need to get out and do some manly stuff, help someone work on their car, etc... Staying at home with a pregnant woman for months on end is really getting to me lol
