I'm not saying go 2JZ, I'm saying think about this. There is a REASON you only see kits for this on cars with V8s. It will lag like HELL if you use anything bigger than... Oh, I dunno, maybe an Evo turbo? Mike has first hand experience with this, maybe he can give you better parameters. Medium displacement I6s don't have enough exhaust gas to spool a reasonable turbo back there, and there is absolutely no reason to when you have PLENTY of room up front for nearly any turbo you want to run.

Btw, to give you a little idea... An HX40 on a 7M would see 15PSI well before 4000 RPMs, right? On an LS2 powered GTO, several different folks have said that they can barely get 10 by redline. Keep in mind, an LS2 is a 6l motor, and a 7M is a 3l.

This is all that needs to be said on this...

You'd still have room up front if you went LS, but I'd stay quiet about it then! :biglaugh:

Just trying to keep you from making a $3000 mistake. Go LS!

If you use the LS-1 and the associated GM PCM you'll be very happy. With LS-1 Edit a tuner can set that car up anyway you want, lock the smog checks as permanently passed so you get no MIL lights. It would be a hell of a project to integrate everything in to the dash, but it would be a very cool setup.

And with the cavernous engine compartment of a MKIII, you'll have TONS of room to set it up right.

I would rather spray or s/c a LS or LT series motor. With a mustang, I would rather turbo it, more room in the engine bay. My buddy had a c6 LS2 with IIRC twin gt28 or gt30 turbos. That fucker moved, but there was little to no room in the bay to do anything.

Given the option, I'd personally spray an LS or LT motor rather than go with a centrifugal supercharger. Centrifugals work in proportion to engine RPM (I had a Paxton, Powerdyne, and an ATI--obviously not all at the same time--on my Mustang, so I have some experience in this area) This is just my opinion, though...think what you will...

Same here, but my statement comes from the "it's cheaper, will go just as fast and creates less engine stress overall = more reliable" train of thought. Also, (this only applies to f-bodies) you're a lot less likely to roflpwn your diff with nitrous than you are with a supercharger (as the rule of thumb is third gear+ gets the gas), and that means you can get by longer with the pussy 7.5".
