Sorry IJ, I'll get a link to that oil pump ASAP. I researched it a year ago so I gotta retrace my steps.

Later

EDIT: I apologize IJ, I could not follow up with the link, the idea that my dad gave me for an external belt driven oil pump must still be bouncing around in my head.

Again I apologize.

Here are some views of the head work done on the 7M. The cumbustion chamber is thermal barrier coated to reduce hot spots, and hopefully lessen detonation. Three views of the exhaust ports and bowls. In one view you see the builder using a very fine abrasive paste to get a polish and a uniform seat. I plan to get views of the head surface RA and the full radius valve seats and back cut valves with phospher-bronze valve guides. Van

Please excuse the blurred views. Here are a few more views to illustrate the work done to the head. Views of the ceramic coating and the back cut valves. A little bling! The company logo and info, that is doing the machining work. Polished the stock cam lobes. Van

Lookin good! Cant wait to see how it does on the track. I guess you already got your drivers for the endurance race? Or do you still need some volunteers?

M&B Cylinder Heads cc'd the combustion chamber and piston to calculate the static compression ratio at 9.42:1. :aigo: That is with a stock designed combustion chamber, with ceramic coating on the chamber and valve faces, Probe Sportsman pistons, with ceramic coating on the top, 2mm Titan MLS gasket, .55mm off the block deck and .18mm off the head. OK there.
Checked for valve clearance from the piston: OK
Next, determine exact top dead center of the crank in the block with a dial indicator set atop #1 cylinder; But wait! the ATI damper shows TDC is out 115 degrees!? Dial says 0, the damper should read TDC. :3d_frown:
Think I need to call ATI about that damper... Van

Hey,

It would be great to see these capable touring cars down on the track, kikin some butt! ::w00t::
I got started by signing up with Cascade Sports Car Club. I did that in case I liked racing, then the time and money I spent went toward a racing license. You can go to their web site www.cascadesportscarclub.org and check out the dates for next years events.

ATI says their dampers go together one way. Checked the part numbers and it is the correct damper. Called Brian of M&B Cylinder Heads, the engine builder, discussed what ATI told me and he is calling them to double check for himself and will call me back. Brian said we may need to place our own TDC mark. Stay tuned... Van

Spoke w/John at ATI and he figures I was sent a damper w/the wrong hub. So ATI is sending the replacement hub 2nd day air from Maryland to Oregon, and appologized for the mess.
We took the damper apart and we're waiting for the correct hub. We'll see what happens next Tuesday. Van
