updates to come soon.. gonna post some pics of whats been going on lately.. To the tune of 1jz head work as well as hsd coilovers and a different car color are a few..
Alright so first things first.. After the last posts i went and got my 1jz tuned by ums tuning in an attempt to pass emissions here.. and after two tuning sessions and like 10 trips to the emission place i gave up on the 1j passing (longgg story) and found a 2jzge from a 93sc300 that i got at pick n pull to drop in for the emissions.. Well after working out a few bugs on that engine i got it running decent and passed emissions first try with flying colors.. Then i drove on that engine for like a month or so before i was itching for the 1jz again and then it went back in.. around the same time i got some coilovers and decided to rattle can the car.. yeah first and last time i will ever do that.. I will now be repainting it in the next few month's.. This time legit status with real guns and paint.. After getting it painted and coilovers all adjusted right so im not rubbing etc. i drove on the 1jz for about a month until one saturday morning i herd a tap tap tap and i pulled the fuck over and checked it our asap.. It sounded like something came loose under the valve covers like a cam cap bolt or something.. so i got it towed for free back to my shop (thanks farmers insurance) and pulled off the valve covers and nothing.. So i then pulled the engine back out and tore it down piece by piece until i found the culprit.. Turns out i got some foreign metal into my #1 and #2 cylinders... Luckilly the damage was minimal and so the head went off to the machine shop to get a valve job and resurface and i decided to do all the gaskets on the 1jz as well as a twin turbo upgrade and fuel injector upgrade and fuel dampner delete..

The wastegate flanges were also ported out i can upload some pictures of that tmrw
Looks good so far. Sand it some more with a heavy grade sandpaper, around 600 grit. Then when it looks smooth, do 800 grit and after that, 1000 grit. Then you can use a polishing compound with a buffing wheel. I find mothers compound to be really good.
