nokaoimk3 sweet build! i read thru the entire build last night! i wanna build my supra for drifting but im going the "2j" route

im in az too, would be nice to see this thing in person!

Well if ya come to the az supra central meet march 17th it will be at my shop and my car will be there.. It will also be going on the team rev up cruise to tortilla flats on march 10th as well as it will be at the local drift events..

Yeah i know right.. Im expecting high 300's to low to mid 400's on 18-22psi of boost.. with this setup.. I wanna get some usdm 2jzgte cams tho and that will get it to the mid to high 400's with a better power curve..

I have been trying to save some extra cash to upgrade my twins.. But I was also pondering the possibilities of those 2J turbos Albert does. You will inspire a ton of people to stay twins!

yeah be pretty interesting to see how high these can go.
I want to go the high flow route for stealth seeing as the road laws in victoria, Australia are quite harsh on modifications but fear it won't be enough power

I think with the 550cc injectors and a set of 2jzgte usdm cams and the gt2862 spec upgrade 500whp is very achievable.. and you engine would still look stock

Engine coming together..

Clutch installed..

Trans bolted up..

Ooohhhh me likey, the engine paint goes good with the car color.
That clutch is gonna grab like a drunk redneck in a titty bar. Should make for some nice clutch kickability.

Unsprung hubs are very hard on transmissions. Without the sprung hub, the shock delivered on shifts to the tranny is pretty brutal. They can be driven safely with proper rev matching and techniques, but they really put a lot of strain on the whole drivetrain.

Faster shifts and the clutch disc itself becomes nearly unbreakable. The springs on sprung hubs sometimes get torn up on very high horsepower applications.

I've always used unsprug=full drag

Sprung=street/all other

Yeah we will see how the unsprung goes... If i hate it im not out that much cash but i just didn't want a slipping clutch.. Ive heard people love and hate them and i want to make my own opinion on them.. but i do have the clutch safety switch mod so i dont have to push in the clutch when starting it as i heard that with the higher pressure pressure plates and the unsprung hubs it can cause crank walk issues if you push the clutch in on start ups..

Friggin gay eclutchmasters.. showed a sprung hub in pic and thats not what it came with.. litterally cheapest clutch to hold the most power.. but if its as bad as you all say then a 6 puck sprung hub friction plate is only like 60 to 80 bucks..
