Well, the front end of my car is all taken apart as of tonight. She's up on jackstands, no fenders, no bumper, no headlights, header panel, etc. Tomorrow I'll start working on taking stuff out of the engine bay in preparation for some major surgery.

Sorry no pix of the raping tonight.

Wow! Make sure you coat the new front end with something to keep the rust away!! :aigo:

And what did you use on the small rust spots? Car will be awesome when done!

The rust that you see didn't just happen, it was corrosion caused by a battery leak or explosion, whatever. The rest of the car is in very good condition in terms of rust, it was just this one area. Thanks previous owner/idiot!

Nice progress you're making there Tanya!

It was nice to meet you this weekend :)

We're muffler buddies! I have the exact same muffler, on 3" cooleze pipes, hooked up on my n/a now just for shits n' giggles til I get the beast running :biglaugh:

imo, the muffler sounds very badass even on my n/a, can't wait to hear it on the MkII :)

LOL! How does the car "look good" all tore apart? You guys are weird!

Anyway, The differential is almost out, 4 bolts to go (mk2s have 10 bolts total plus the axle bolts). I'm swapping the stock 4.30s for 4.10s.

Should start on removing the engine/tranny this weekend. Tranny needs to be swapped anyway, and I figure it'd be easier to cut/weld the front end with the engine out.

Waiting on Chimpy to get back so he can teach me to hack off the front of the car and weld it back together.
