So I've just had a mental breakdown. Due to having an uncertain financial future come June since my MGIB runs out in June and my wife is currently unemployed (need to get her a drivers license first) we have decided to bring the Supra home as it stands right now and let it sit until things look brighter financially. In the mean time I will be doing little things to the Supra like re-wiring my kill switch (I have 20 ft of 00 gauge wire that I want to trade for 2 gauge wire). I know this is going to kill me to put my beast on hold again but I have to do what I have to do to survive. I'll be bringing my Supra home in the next couple days (if I'm lucky, under it's own power and not on the back of a trailer). God I hate responsibility. Being an adult can really blow chunks.

Well, looks like I am going to get the Supra back on the road soon. Bill just got his new shop so once he gets everything setup we are going to start tearing into my motor and make it right. Hopefully it will be done by the end of February (the time frame is mostly dependant on how long it takes to get the shop setup).

Went to Canada for the day to see it for the first time in about 2 months. First Bill Bowering and I pulled the motor, then I pulled the valve covers, cam gears, and the water neck off the motor. I also removed the old heat wrap from the down pipe and turbo manifold. For the rest of the day I cleaned the engine bay with degreaser and then proceeded to clay bar it. I also discussed a few things to be done while the motor is out that will help enhance the look of my engine bay.

The donor car. I'll be using the block from this car and selling the head and any other motor component that's still in good enough shape to sell.

The coil packs from the donor motor (currently for sale), along with my hydrofan reservoir mount and water neck that need a little work.

Getting painted shortly

A little more progress. My buddies and I polished my water neck some more and got rid of some ridges in it, along with painting my radiator hold down brackets and hydrofan reservoir satin black (I'm thinking of repainting them flat black for a more stealth look). And since I was having painting problems due to the temps being too cold in my garage I bought a 30,000 btu propane tank mounted dual heater. Really made the garage nice and toasty warm.

Just got off the phone with Bill, my spare block is toast. Rust in all the cylinders. We're just going to swap the cranks. The crank is already pulled from my spare block and looks good. I ordered new front and rear main seals, all the o-rings for the oil pump, the o-ring for the water pump, and a lower radiator hose. Friday I'm heading up to the shop to take my motor over to the machinist.

I had my buddy Trevor (northwestsupra) paint my cam gears, radiator hold down brackets, and hydrofan reservoir bracket flat black today. Looks really good. I'll have him paint my hood struts shortly, gotta pick-up the other one from Independent Speed Shop Friday. I picked up a new hood strut today, and I will be getting a pile of goodies from Toyota tomorrow :)

Nothing exciting today, just picked up bunch of seals and o-rings and a lower radiator hose from the stealership. Headed up to the shop tomorrow to take my motor to the machinist and drop off parts. It'll be interesting having my 1JZ in the back of my Geo Metro :D
