A little wiring progress made today. I got my GM MAP sensor wired in, and a good chunk of the BIC 1zz coil harness hooked up, but since I already cut off the ignitor, I need to ask Randy about a couple wires. I also filled my diff with fluid today.

On a side note, I did replace the spark plugs, PCV valve, and a PCV hose (rock hard and filled 50% with oil and crud on the inside) on my Subaru today.

I mounted my coils today so they're ready to be plugged in once I finish wiring in the harness. I also removed the rear coilovers and most of the upper A arms on the rear suspension so I can remove them, but I can't get the spindle to break free and pop up. And I also got a call which ended in me selling my almost new (about 700 miles on it) OEM radiator to a local guy so I can get another aftermarket radiator (I'm thinking either Koyo or Mishimoto).

Oh, and I also put in a CD player in my Subie, which cured my faulty speaker issue :)

Connected the coils and finished wiring them in, along with wrapping the harness in electrical tape so I can then wrap it with split loom. I removed a few more wires that were loose, along with removing what's the stock JZ coil connectors (if anybody wants them, lmk). The pain power wire needs to go to the battery, so I backtracked it along the outside of the rest of the wiring loom and then had it follow along the wire loom that goes up inside the fender (including putting it inside the split loom) and have it coming out the other end next to the connector. I still need to run another wire from my power block which is behind the passenger headlight along the underside of the top of the radiator support and into the drivers side fender where it can be connected with the power wire for the coils. Oh yeah, I also got my box of Energy Suspension rear control arms/links set and a complimentary SupraSport.com water bottle today :)

I finished wrapping the engine harness today, ran the power wire (including the inline fuse). Discovered when I went to connect the inline fuse to the power block that a couple of my wires were loose enough that they just came out without a problem, not good. Fixed that little issue as well. I also put the coil cover back on. You can see the new gap that's created, which is minimal and will be later addressed with a custom cover. In the pic of the inner fender well, you can see where the power wire will meet up with the other half that's ran along the harness.

Got the rear toe arms removed, the radiator removed, drilled the hole for the engine harness as well as lining the outer hole with split loom. I still need to line the inner hole with split loom as well. I drilled the hole where the heater pipe used to go through the firewall, right above the gas pedal mount. Perfect location that's easy to access and plenty of room behind the intake manifold. I need to rent a pickle fork tomorrow so I can pop off the rear upper control arms and get those off to the machinist to have the new bushings installed.

A ton of work got done tonight. Starting with the removal of my rear upper control arms (and the subsequent ripping of the boots on both ball joints and the ordering of replacements from my buddy 92tealsupra) and the recieving of my fuel dampener bypass line and the needed AN fittings to finish installing my fuel system courtesy of Driftmotion (big thanks to Aaron for shipping right away). I then proceeded to trim the throttle cable stop by removing the heat shield and trimming down to make it look like the shield was never there. Then came the fuel system. I removed the fuel dampener and the hoses that attach to it and installed DM's fuel dampener bypass hose. I cut off the tabs on the fuel dampener to make washers for the motor mount bolts since without them I'd need shorter bolts. I plugged the center hole of the fuel rail, installed the AN -8 to -6 fittings on the ends of the rail, assembled the injectors, and then mated the fuel rail and injectors to the lower intake manifold.

I finally got around to regluing and installing the coolant return plug in the firewall where the heater core's coolant used to go through. I noticed the fuel feed line going into my FPR was a little long, so I trimmed off about 6" to tidy things up. With a little bit of finagling (and modifying of my coolant bypass setup) I got the lower intake manifold assembly installed. Next the 1zz coils grounding strap was bolted down to the fuel rail mount, followed by the mounting of my GM MAP sensor next to the brake booster on the firewall. The engine harness got ran through the firewall, and the injectors and CPS's connected. Finally, I decided to work on my flushmounts so I started making a replacement drivers side headlight cover that cleans up everything out of thinner 20 gauge sheet metal. Wow, it's like writing an essay :D

Got my replacement toe link and rear upper control arms from 92TealSupra today. I gave them a quick bath since they were dirty, and then cut out the rough shape of the passenger side light cover panel. All got dropped off at the local fab shop to have the new poly bushings installed as well as the angles properly bent on a brake. I got a few more connectors connected, mounted the coil harness relay, installed the fuel rail feed, and put the cam gear cover back on.

Got my pile of rear suspension goodies back from the machine shop today with all new Energy Suspension poly bushings, along with my light covers all bent up (still need to trim the passenger side panel from the bent piece I got). The drivers side rear suspension is all installed, maybe tomorrow I'll bend up the passenger side. With a little grease the parts went in without a hitch. Hell of a difference from stock. In the last pick you can see the side by side comparison of the stock vs. beefed up traction arms. Once I get the passenger side all installed I still need to clean the rear upper control arms since they're filthy, but I am out of brake cleaner at the moment.

Got the drivers side all put back together with the upgraded goodies, as well as both rear wheels put back on. I cleaned up the pass side upper control arm, only to realize that it'll never be seen, especially when I get my rear BBK. I also secured the engine harness and connected a body connector. That's all.
