215wrhp? really? thats around 40 base hp for?

Most beat ass 7MGEs seem to put out 140-150whp. I don't see why a nicely freshened 7MGE cannot put out 160-170whp stock, a decent header & exhaust should be 15-20hp addition, bringing it pretty close to 200.

For people tossing performance parts on 150,000 mile engines, you're not going to see crap for gains IMO.

N/A Supra owners tend to be more broke than Turbo Supra Owners (that's why they are N/A, haha, but this is just a general stereotype) so they slap on some cheap mods that don't do anything and dyno on old shitty ass engines and they post up results making all the other people think that N/As can't make over 150 RWHP.

It's a shame really...:nono:

That's exactly RIGHT.

How many times a week do you guys and dolls read just that????

So if I slap on a new MHG??? Problem solved right?

Not by a long shot. Who cares what your n/a dyno's at.

If that was all you were after you bought the wrong car.

If you want 200 brand new ponies. You can't have it by "refreshening"

only part of the engine.

I agree to an extent, but i bought mine because is was one of 7(3 broken or wore slam out) up to 60 miles away from my town at least(all the ones in the junk yards were crushed for scrap). and i really wanted the car:] and it was just sitting there in the yard. i mean, it was na, auto, and broken....beggars can't be choosers:]

lol

I hope that dyno is free.

I'd be embarrassed to pay money for a dyno pull and only make less than 200rwhp.

And the fact that people will be there watching and LOL-ing. Thanks for giving MK3 Supras a bad name.

^that's a caca attitude.

It's not the best idea to go into a dyno with an n/a car and expect a ton of hp, sure, but dynos aren't strictly for hp wars. It will give you a good idea of the engine life, whether it's dying or still healthy, and how your a/f is doing and all that goodness.

I liked keeping a dyno record of my upgrades. My first black '85 did 132whp stock and no one laughed at me. I went back months later with a new exhaust and gained 12whp and still no one laughed at me. Maybe bc it was just a mk2, but I would do it again (and I will soon)

Jeeeeeez here's where I'd tell dude to bite me.
If he wants to dyno it to see where he's at....., whatever.

This bad name and finger pointing is crazy.
Harsh'n a bit I think.

I'd like to dyno mine a few times during small performance upgrades and see if anything really changes.

I drive an N/A and I'm comfortable with that for now so no need to impress the people working the dyno.

Yea um I'm not the smartest when it comes to 7M's.
Sorry for the overestimating of my motor. I'm' new to the supra community and I have big plans and I'm just curious of what I'm starting with. And by my understanding the HP decrease of the drivetrain was around 20%. So if you start with 200 wouldnt that leave you around 175-180rwhp. Then you add an intake, and exhaust, (15-20hp) wouldnt that be almost 200. If I'm wrong, then my bad.

Thank you tanya for understanding the way I was looking at it.

20% of 200 is 40, which leaves you 160. I believe that's what Tanya estimated as well

Then thats my mistake. I'm not doing a damn bit of math until saturday.
Math classed owned me:nono:

Don't forget loss due to age and wear. I doubt there are any N/A's out there with stock ~165rwhp that haven't done a complete rebuild at some point.
