Aww I missed this thread, but advice to the OP...

Don't lie on SM....ever...the people here know what they are talking about.

Don't get pissed when people point out your bullshit.

Don't come crying when we give you hard advice, its for the best, believe me I know.

Listen to the guys here when they give you advice.

And lastly....honestly your best option is to get a beater for $500...and repair the car with a TSRM and do it yourself...having tools and a book will do you good. Then ask questions here, and DON'T LIE....be honest and listen some more.

Yeah, I remember how it works back home in Cali...illegal smogs are all cool until you get pulled over by some overachieving five-oh. Then you get sent to the state referee...almost lost a car to that once. No fun, gotta love Texas there. :D

Don't drop the smog equipment if you live in CA. You will get caught up eventually, unless you plan on non-opping the vehicle for track use only...and even then it has to be trailered on public roads. You can make mad power and still be legit, you've just got to understand why those devices are there, and how to work with and around them.

Also, sounds like what you need is a junkyard swap. A STOCK ONE. Go to pick-n-pull (there is one in Modesto, Fresno, and another in Stockton), and have them look up 1986-92 Supras...their website shows one in Stockton and Modesto, and two in Fresno's yard. Stockton also shows 3 Cressidas with 7M motors. Modesto even has an sc300 that might hold a 2jz-ge to start a swap-in...not even going to start on the v8 contents of the yards...plus, there's a plethora of Supra guys down there in CenCal, at least 1/4 of whom I suspect have a spare motor they would part with for a reasonable price, and probably help you swap in.

A PnPull longblock is like $250, no core, with accessories and manifolds. You can even leave most of the wiring intact, in most cases. The only way you're going to learn your way out of this is by doing, not paying.

I had to garage my GTI for the better part of a year because nobody near me would give me an emissions test so I could renew my CO plates... something about not having CA DOT stickers for my mods... At least I logged a crapload of miles on my road bike!

Otherwise, ITT: the best of internet drama.

To the op. Man find a motor yours is junk you can find one cheap I found one for a 100 bucks. that leaves ya with 3100 to rebuild. The way you come off I fill that you are a young person. All I can say is read!!!! Alot you need to have faith in yourself these motors are not rocket science. Yes they are really really sensitive in every aspect. Learn your way around this forum and have some faith in your self learn to work on the 7m. If you don't you have no reason to own one much less own three.
