i don't race on the street waste of time plus i liek my liceance plus i don't wana be tag under the bad drivers act and pay even more money

and whe i race at the track i throw on my mickeys and prob solved

but that's justme

I race on track too and with my slicks. The drag radials are for me keeping traction for daily cruising ;) Before on street tires, I could spin tires from a roll in third.

I love em' Duane, I've always wanted to get some CCdub classics on my car, you just gave me all the more motivation to do so.

The 17- 18" combo looks odd that way. I have seen 17" fronts, and 18" rear before, but never the other way :dunno:

It's real common with CCW's on MK4 supras. The reason is tire selection, which isn't as bad as it used to be but there are still more wide 17's available in the right range of overall diameter.

Kinda surprised you're not running a 16 or even a 15 on the back given your interest in drag racing,
Or is this strictly for the street? (thinking maybe you run a 15" with some real slicks, say 10" at the strip?)

Otherwise how much of that "800hp" do you think goes up in smoke?

Just curious, since as I'm sure you know, the latter will be better for 1/4 mile.:icon_bigg

Yes, these are strictly for the street. As I said, I run slicks at the track. I currently run a 10.5" slick but may go with an 11.5" this year but will cross that bridge when I get there. :) I'm doing all exterior stuff for now as I like to do one step at a time.

nice rim's!

i've been looking at mesh rims but was also looking at 17's all around or 18's in the rear.

i see your reasoning for the 17inch d/r. is it they do not make them in 18's or is it again a traction issue?

I don't plan on having any tire last in the rear, I'll just buy a new pair. ;) Again, these are only a temp pair.

As for rain, my car doesn't see any unless you count washing it, especially after it comes out of paint shop.

the main reason is traction. people want the extra sidwall from the 17 for extra traction.. when you have 800+whp any little bit helps
