I expected to be taken to the 1985 MK2 for a crisp $21.5k! lol Now THAT is smoking crack!

That guy says if it doesn't sell he will keep it forever. I emailed him and told him he'd be keeping it forever. I have yet to get a reply. It's probably the nicest MKII I've seen in years but $21.5? I'd give $10k for it easy.

But thats just the mentality. He doesn't really want to sell it unless he gets what he wants. If someone wants it enough to pay him what he wants for it, he can be happy knowing that the new owner will treat it right.

Exactly. My cars for sale right now. For the right price.

EVERYTHING is for sale. For the right price.

Then why don't we all start selling our cars at $10k +. Crappy ones for $5k and good ones for $10k. If everyone did that, whoever wants an MK3 would have to come up with lots of money to buy it. Now our cars will be worth a lot......

Now our cars are worth a lot. Now NO ONE will buy them. Cost too damn much. So what happens when john smith needs to sell him MK3 that is worth 10k because he needs money? He drops the price. No one buys it. He drops the price.. and so on and so on. Now it's $3k. Someone buys it cause it's affordable now.

I've spent over $15k on my car, but if I posted it up for $15k, WHO will buy it? NO ONE. That goes for everyone on this board. Post your car up for what you spent on it, you will NEVER sell it for that price. That's why a lot of guys just part out their cars.......

Just my .06 cents....

Now watch the babe say "blow job, blow job" :biglaugh:

ACTUALLY youre wrong...

IF (obviously this is all hypothetical) IF EVERYONE who owned a mk3 jacked up the price...meaning every single owner...OR lets just say 90% of owners....all jacked up the price of their mk3s...guess what...they would still sell.... the consumer wouldnt have a choice in the matter if they wanted this car. so people would get what they were asking for the car. however i feel the demographic of the car would obviously change...but probably for the better in the most part.

why do you think the mk4s are so expensive..... they were on their way for the most part to being "cheap and affordable" before F&F came out...then they pretty much collectively raised the prices due to demand and are selling for what they are asking for for the most part.

either way...its one thing to not think YOUR (not specifically you) car isnt worth anything.....but to not think a clean car like this isnt worth a measely 7k is crazy.

yeah i agree that he should get at least 7k for it being in damn near mint condition. Howevever, hes misleading saying the car has 400hp and someone not knowing about supras will buy this car thinking it has 400hp, take it to a dyno or something and be in for the shock of their life

I think the thread if off topic...I posted about his claim of 400 hp I don't see 270 hp on that car even
Wrong... You posted a title saying the guy was on crack, then a link to his ebay auction... No where did you mention his power claim, or anything remotely related to the car, therefore, there is no topic, except the link, to the car, which is the topic and its open... :D:D:D

If everybody jacked up the price of their mk3 poeple would just buy s13's :biglaugh: Oh wait, they already do buy s13's at high prices because the DEMAND for the car is the only thing that can raise a car's value to double or triple the bluebook value, and there is not that type of demand for the 87 mk3. That is not going to happen with people buying clean mk3's around here for well under $1k. And with the $6k you save you can build a new engine with a metal headgasket that actually makes 400hp, or buy a whole brand new interior and custom paint job. The car is not a classic and only has value as stock to a diehard mk3 fan. But it is not totally stock, and obviously he thinks it can make 400hp on the stock "twice retorqued" headgasket, so obviously the car was driven by someone who used much more then stock boost on that engine. I would rather have one that is totally stock and never saw more then 7psi. Diehard mk3 fans are the only people who would consider paying double the bluebook value for that car. Just because you want it to be worth that much does not mean it really is in the real world.

Here is what it is really worth:

Excellent
$3,980

Good
$3,585

Fair

Blue Book Private Party Value
Private Party Value is what a buyer can expect to pay when buying a used car from a private party. The Private Party Value assumes the vehicle is sold "As Is" and carries no warranty (other than the continuing factory warranty). The final sale price may vary depending on the vehicle's actual condition and local market conditions. This value may also be used to derive Fair Market Value for insurance and vehicle donation purposes.
Vehicle Condition Ratings Check Vehicle Title History Excellent
$3,980

"Excellent" condition means that the vehicle looks new, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning. This vehicle has never had any paint or body work and is free of rust. The vehicle has a clean title history and will pass a smog and safety inspection. The engine compartment is clean, with no fluid leaks and is free of any wear or visible defects. The vehicle also has complete and verifiable service records. Less than 5% of all used vehicles fall into this category.

what are you NEW? yeah cause mk4s sell for kbb price too right?

s13s are more common then the mk3s by FAR....and they go for the same shitty prices.... once again a "trend" is what has propelled them to be worth anything. and they still sell for next to nothing.

bottom line is EVERYONE raised the prices on the mk3...they would sell for those prices.... people obviously want to buy mk3s....there is a demand for them. i dont see why a clean low mileage one couldnt go for a nice price. especially since in another 5 years id be willing to bet theres less then 30k mk3s in the country. sure they werent made as rare as the mk4..but they still only made like what 100k total for this side of the pond...... hell they made that many mustangs in one year....

between accidents part outs people junking them etc...... these cars WILL become collector cars and eventually the value for a clean one will definitley go up.

Someone will probably buy it, just not me. LOL

My grandpa always said "the car is worth whatever someone is willing to pay you for it".
If it sells for $7k then that's what it was worth to that buyer.

okey, lets clear some things. Firstly, s13 is not in same class as Supra is. s13 is cheap "sporty" car while supra is a sporty luxury highway cruiser, so dont compare them both. I would rather see Supra compered to 300zx not that shitty 200sx/240sx.

Although, thats my 02 cents

400 hp or not. I paid primo $$$$ for my supra too and don't regret it a bit. Good luck finding a supra in that kind of shape and untampered w/. That car is well worth $7000. As for blue book prices, anyone who works in automotive sales will tell you that book values don't mean shit. Compare the actual selling and auction prices of great condition supras, integras, and preludes to book prices........ take book numbers and triple them.

That MKIII is clean, and that MKII is even cleaner! the QCBC is wicked.

I payed a bit less than that for my car, but then again mine was bone stock. I have no problem paying that much for my car cause it was well worth it to me.
