ACTUALLY youre wrong...
IF (obviously this is all hypothetical) IF EVERYONE who owned a mk3 jacked up the price...meaning every single owner...OR lets just say 90% of owners....all jacked up the price of their mk3s...guess what...they would still sell.... the consumer wouldnt have a choice in the matter if they wanted this car. so people would get what they were asking for the car. however i feel the demographic of the car would obviously change...but probably for the better in the most part.
why do you think the mk4s are so expensive..... they were on their way for the most part to being "cheap and affordable" before F&F came out...then they pretty much collectively raised the prices due to demand and are selling for what they are asking for for the most part.
either way...its one thing to not think YOUR (not specifically you) car isnt worth anything.....but to not think a clean car like this isnt worth a measely 7k is crazy.
If everybody jacked up the price of their mk3 poeple would just buy s13's :biglaugh: Oh wait, they already do buy s13's at high prices because the DEMAND for the car is the only thing that can raise a car's value to double or triple the bluebook value, and there is not that type of demand for the 87 mk3. That is not going to happen with people buying clean mk3's around here for well under $1k. And with the $6k you save you can build a new engine with a metal headgasket that actually makes 400hp, or buy a whole brand new interior and custom paint job. The car is not a classic and only has value as stock to a diehard mk3 fan. But it is not totally stock, and obviously he thinks it can make 400hp on the stock "twice retorqued" headgasket, so obviously the car was driven by someone who used much more then stock boost on that engine. I would rather have one that is totally stock and never saw more then 7psi. Diehard mk3 fans are the only people who would consider paying double the bluebook value for that car. Just because you want it to be worth that much does not mean it really is in the real world.

The Private Party Value assumes the vehicle is sold "As Is" and carries no warranty (other than the continuing factory warranty). The final sale price may vary depending on the vehicle's actual condition and local market conditions. This value may also be used to derive Fair Market Value for insurance and vehicle donation purposes.
