Interesting oil thread.
Just one point, the oil pressure sending unit is right in the main galley on the block, and that really is no where near the oil pump on the 7MGTE motor.
True it's not taking a reading of oil pressure at the con rod journals, but I don't know of any automotive engines that do that anyway.
I'm sad to hear the theory that Mobile One is now just a blended group III oil and not a 4 or 5 true synthetic. I wonder if this is just for the new "mid" grade Mobile one, the 7500 mile oil, and if the 15,000 mile oil is still 4/5 Synth? Don't know, but it appears that it's time to start running Redline in my engines, and not just the transmisisons and diff's.
I like moly additives. (Especially when they are sprayed on a baked... )
I have had some great experiances with moly gear oils solving noisy bearings and allowing me to run worn out parts longer than I should have. (And I've used this stuff in parts I wanted to last longer too with good results.)
If they would tell us what is really in BiTron, and not just dance around the question with more warm fuzzy stories, I'd be more interested in the idea. (Ok, so the oil that's attracted to metal is nifty, and most ester oils are that way, so are they just selling a container of super polar ester oil, or did the Russians really discover something that makes oil stick like glue to metal as claimed? Don't know, and untill they come out with some real data, and prove it is not some chlorine that will break down into an acid, I'll sit at the sidelines and watch.)
