Your probably right. But it's a different kinda hostility. We are only hostile at them because they are at us! Well that goes for some of us anyways..
or maybe alot of A70 owners are insecure about their car(which is almost always the case)

If your car is clean, you got nothing to worry about. Honestly most of the A80 guys WILL respect your Supra if it's nice(look at Mattjk's thread on SF. it's the cleanest A70 I've ever seen). Of course there's bad apples in the bunch but there's just as many in our camp.
I make fun of NA A70s, Na A80s, and pre89s all the time. My intentions aren't malicious, though.
i've never felt any open hostility from mk4 guys, but i have noticed they seem to an air of superiority about them...things like taking up two spaces at luxor parking garage, "looking down" on owners of "lesser cars"(expierenced this one first hand...and all i did was mention i had a couple of mk2's)
i think the only way to combat this is to put out better/more mk2's and 3's.
i'm doing what i can on the mk2 front, but admitedly, mine isn't a "pure" car
i love vegas, but i think there needs to be more than a dozen 2's and a couple of dozen 3's...its a mk4 "sausage fest"

I couldnt agree any more with u in regards to this post.
At Tx2k meets in Houston....im gettin and givin love to all mk2/3/4 owners and they are giving it back. I throw a party, all gens show up, i throw a BBQ, all gens show up..we BS around, have a great time...it really is you insecure A70 owners that got a big problem with the small bit of shit talking.
we got some mk4 guys in my neck of the woods who always come to us A70 guys when there is a problem...we enjoy each others company, they arent afraid to ask for help, we arent afraid to give it.
alot of their bashins is stemming from those who live the actual stereotypes. a clean mk3 will be respected because it shows to other people that the owner respects his car, respects the communitys image and shows a bit of maturity. In this case, ur car does say a bit about you. alot of the CLEAN A70 cars that show up are very class guys/gals. alot of those turd furgeson ones that have ghetto mods, rustin and dying out cars and are always looking for "respect" are usually the immature kids that roam around in which nobody wants to hang around them.
Im so secure about myself and my car to know that if some mk4 guys are talking shit or making jokes, i know damn well its not about me..so i dont trip.
the only ones that SLIGHTLY bother me are those fanboys who have nothing to show for who talk shit as a sad attempt to fit in. Most of them get told to shut the fuck up by the side that they stand on...makes for a good laugh.
also if you read some bullshit about A70s from an A80 guy, check his profile. 8/10 times, he has an NA. :rofl:

job considered an embarassment to a supra or any car for that matter?
if it's done well, what matter paint brand/method used?
dude is currently in shcool for paint/body work, which would most likely put him at a level far beyond most of us...and he seems to be pulling it off ok, and we have all seen the pics of other cars done this way, didn't look embarassing at all....
are we lumping guys who can't afford a 3k paint job into some white trash category, in spite of what their car looks like?
