Anyways.. went to dmv today and i started the great shit process of registering a car in california (all you californians know how this shit goes)

Wait in like for 2 hrs to get helped for 2 minutes... hah.

Anyways.. i bought the car with a bill of sale and a lost pink slip form only.. and things went great... its only 120.00 behind on registration which isnt bad at all.. next step is to get her smogged and finish this stuff up! My wife recently got a VERY nice Digital HD dvd camcorder that we are going to use to make a video of the car when its completed, going on a nice windy, twisty mountain road here.

More to come.. also discovered a stupid leak on the bottom of the I/M that will be a bitch to fix.. anywho... i just got back from the hospital.. and tomorow im getting a whole arsenal of teeth pulled tomorow..

Nite nite.

Well, if your long term goal is a 2JZ (Its a good goal btw), then yank the
7mge and do a basic head job, change all important gaskets and seals and enjoy the car as is. Don't waste money on major builds. All stock gaskets and torqued to higher specs on the HG will make it a good daily driver. This is what I did to my Cressida and its been one year and have had no problems. ( same engine ofcourse)

This seems like the most logical thing to do at this point.. ill save and get all the parts i need for a swap so i can pull the engine, drop in the 2j, and be done..

I'll be taking just the head off tomorow and inspecting it... i will replace the headgasket, and valve seals / cam seals.. i might need a new distrubutor.. the gear on it slided all the way to the top of the distributor.. dont know why or how..

Sorry for the lack of progress..

Ive been in the hospital for the last few days with some pretty severe intestinal problems.. a blood vessel was clogged with a blood clot which led to pretty severe side affects.. (not crapping for 8 days) intestine was infected, swollen, and really, really mad. so after several days in the hospital.. and over 30 hours of sleep in a 48 hour period... i'm slowly recovering.

I got the head off and found substantial amounts of coolant in #1... but only #1. Then... i looked at the piston tops... almost immaculate... NO ring ridge, whatsoever.. AND i can see factory cross hatching.

I looked at the vin on the engine, which did not match the vin on my car,, I wrote the previous previous owner, and he verified that a JDM was installed around 10,000 miles ago. Score... I got the head all done... i took out all valves.. got them adjusted with the shims.. and put in new valve seals and new cam seals... I am completely excited... AND i found out why i had my previous high idle issues... The rear egr plate that goes on the back of the head was ABSENT. there was only one blockoff plate where the exhaust comes OUT of the back of the head.. and the rest of the egr was all hooked up (it was pulling unmetered air through the EGR on the driver side of the head)

I love progress! anyways.. ive ordered new lower and upper manifold gaskets... but unfortunately my MEDI-CAL was cancelled and i had to spend the rest of my supra fund on medicine.. so now the engine cant go back together ( i need a set of headbolts )

heres a few pics

I will be putting the head back on and motor back together when i can get $$ for a egr plate and a set of head bolts

Dude it's looking like you're making good progress. If you ever, and I mean EVER get rid of that 7m motor, PM ME FIRST THING!!

I need some parts I will buy from you, and the cleaning looks AMAZING!

(Don't say I said this, but the IM and Y-pipe cleaning is a route most would rather go then get it polished, because the amount of effort it takes (Hardly any)).

Peace, and good luck.

And... Uh... Sorry about the not being able to shit for 8 days. Make a movie about it, call it 8 days later, and make millions, and give me half (Of the money, not the shit).
