also... i was getting ready to pull the head today and noticed a new timing belt... or newer.. but there was like a rubber dust on the timing cover.. not a ton but enough to grab with my fingers... Is this bad or break in for the belt? or is the belt too tight?

Damn, when you going to wash the engine bay? It totally takes away from the clean stuff you just put on...

LOL hey, I've yet to clean my engine bay either, but it doesn't look as bad as yours does ;) When my engine comes out soon, I'll be scrubbing all the dust and grime out of there. Got a bunch of clean and painted parts going in, don't need the dirt to take away from the bling :)

Oh, and I hope that evergreen gasket kit works for you! I got a full kit for myself and am a little nervous about the HG not having the copper rings around the waterjacket, and am not really happy about the single layer exhaust mani gasket.. but hopefully it'll do...

evergreen is pretty much a good "stock" rebuild kit.. its good if you intend to treat the car as if stock.. ive had NO issues with evergreens in the past, with my stock applications.

And tanya.. if you need any MK2 parts.. let me know.. i got a ton of stuff.. even a w58 if you want.. just pm me with what you need.

Thanks! Got a W58 already, but I'm missing the clutch and brake pedal, slave & master cylinders. I have everything else for the swap.

Us going-against-the-grain N/Aers gotta stick together lol
