The plug resting on my thumb is the one that needs to be bridged. The two lower connectors in that plug that face the same way.

the two wire are 10 awg wires? if so those are connected. its the start signal to the starter. the motor cranks so i must have wired those correctly. whats that white plug with the red rubber seal on the inside? i was thinking that was the trans plug. i jumped two wires in there and it didnt help.

Have you checked the grounds at the back of the intake manifold near the firewall? There are two eyelet connectors, each with two wires. They need to be grounded well.

And here's a dumb question, but have you checked all your fuses?

From memory that white plug with the red ring goes to the shifter linkage setup but don't quote me on that, it's been a while and i've been drunk many times since then. lol. Anyways it won't be the cause of your issue.
Did you check as Shaeff suggested?
If your getting power to the 4 points on the ecu but no spark i'm a little lost although that's fairly normal for me.
Is the little yellow plug still connected to your B1 7mgte harness plug in pin 12? That's a start wire. Don't remember if it needed to be earthed or powered on the auto harness. Sorry for my poor typeing, i'm on holidays and i'm half drunk.

all fuses are good and i have power to all the correct places. the brown and white-blk wire by the starter are grounded. i guess im just waiting on a different computer to get here.

the little yellow connector by the ecu isnt plugged to any thing. what color is the wire that might have to get start signal?

^ Don't know what wire off hand, I'd have to look at the EWD, but are you using pre '89 wiring on this? (yellow plugs at the ECU?)

If so, I've got a spare 7MGE ECU you can try. The 7M ECU's rarely go bad, but it's a possibility. I've never seen a fried ECU, personally.

Here's a link to a well written up swap for the 7m into a mark2, i realize you have a 4 runner but the same wires will be used in your swap as well, so just take a look and compare with what you've already done.

http://andy.supras.org.nz/wiring_files/wiring.htm
i saw that link before but the guy is useing way diffiren harness than me. i also looked at a wire diagram for the engine and 4runner for over 3 days. im a auto tech my trade so i can read a diagram fairly well as well as use a DVOM.

is there any reason why i wont have spark if i have power through the coil, and all the distributor wires ohm out correctly?

Have you had the distributor cap off? Did someone maybe take the rotor out before you got the motor in your possession? Stupid, yes, but I've seen some crazy things that people do. LOL.

(By the way, I'm planning a high CR 7MGTE swap into my Pickup! ;)) Do you go wheeling anywhere around here, or you just putting the 7M in for fun on the street?

rock crawler i hate mud because i work on my own truck lol 5.29s on 38s with 30 spline longs in front, fully locked and 4.7 Tcase duals with a rear 23spline this winter. it works ok but more power would be nice.

Hot damn! That's a totally badass 'Runner! I'm not a big mud fan either, but I do play around every so often when I find someplace fun. What SAS kit (if any) is that? I'm totally diggin' the exocage too. I don't plan on going any larger than 33x10.5's as the pickup is my wintertime DD. I just picked up a tru-trac rear for it, as I don't want to lock the rear (e-locker or ARB) until I SAS the front- then the tru-trac will go up front for snow driving.

I'd love to meet up and take a look at that beast! I've seen a few Toyotas around with some serious work done, but never got to talk to anyone. There were two guys at the Hudson Valley Mall with rock crawlers that pretty much parked on each other's rigs. It was badass.

Where do you wheel it? The powerlines down your way? I never find anyplace that's legal. :(

i built all the SAS brackets my self. we mostly go out of state to rausch creek to wheel. your better off with a selectable locker in the front and somthing like a detroit in the rear. my rear is welded and lockright in the front. the lockright limits steering on the dirt alot. in the snow i dont even lock the front hubs unless im aired down to about 3-5psi.
what color were the trucks at the mall and how long ago?

power lines arnt legal and kind of flat. could probably be fine with a stock truck.

i got some IFS front axles and controll arms that you can have if you want them as spares. i will never need them.

That's pretty cool. Yeah, I'd like a rear e-locker (the truck is my winter DD, and locker + 4hr trips in the snow don't mix very well) I need to keep it daily drivable, otherwise I'd go nuts on it.

I can't recall the colors of the trucks, I'll have to check my pics when I get home, I think I snapped a few. They were pretty hardcore, fairly certain one of them was 4linked in the rear. This was easily a year or more ago.

There are power lines up near me that aren't ever patrolled, and there are some nasty spots, (likely why it's not patrolled) but I've never been stuck there. I've only been a few times, though. If the IFS stuff will fit my '94 Pickup, I'll take it off your hands if you no longer need it!

Did you ever figure out your no-start issue?

I wish there were more trails around here, as I don't even get much time on the weekends. Always busy doing something... If you hear of anyplace, let me know!

yes i got it running, no power on the B1 terminal on the ecu. all i have to do this weekend is install the PS resivor, make a throttle cable mount, bolt up the rear driveshaft and take it for a shake down run.

fixed one problem and now i have another. when it get to about 4K it will just die until about 3k then rev to 4k and so forth. is this a maf problem? or could it be that i still have the 4cyl fuel pump in it?

I've read on www.supracharged.com that the 22re fuel pump will supply enough fuel for a 7mge, but I'm very anal when it comes to the fuel system, and I'd swap out the pump anyway.

Glad to hear you've got it all working properly!

Hey man,

Set the cams at 12 o'clock, set the crank at 0* before top dead center on the compression stroke in cylinder 1. Put the distributor in according to the TSRM: http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=IG&P=17

Start it, let it warm up to operating temp. Jump t1 and e1 in the diagnostic block. THEN set the timing to 10* BTDC. :)

What year is the motor? 86.5-88 redline is 6500, 89-92 redline is 6250 according to the tachs.
