Heres a link about it. http://blog.cardomain.com/blog/2008/05/nick-hogan-plea.html?cid=114786838#comment-114786838

Just wondering what you all think about this.
And it did involve a supra .

IMHO I am very happy to see a kid like this go to jail the only bad thing is its too bad it wasnt a longer sentence perferably life.

Im suprised that his dad puts up with him cause I would not be proud to have him as a son. He is very spoiled and his attitude shows it. I hope this kid gets it together while he is in jail.

I'm not sure the punishment fits the crime, but I can't say too much as I am a compulsive speeder. I just hope that if and when I wreck one day that I don't hurt anyone but myself.

Street racing while drunk on wet streets is usually a good recipe for disaster.

Life in prison for this? What the hell? I think the punishment fits the crime quite well. 8 months of your life behind bars is no picnic, nor is losing your license for a few years.

His father puts up with him because his father is the one indulging him. He lets his son drink, tosses him the keys to cars with more power than he can handle, and he's going to get FUCKED in the civil case.

LOL.. Its like what the Ultimate Warrior said.. "By the time he's out, he wont be able to hold a fart in" ... LOL... I think for anyone else, the punishment fits the crime.. But when you're freaking rich like them, not having a drivers license for 3 years is nothing.. He should be counting his blessings that the judge was very fair...

I met this lil puke one time, you can just tell what kind of person he is by 5 minutes of him talking, I mean it's that bad. I've never liked rich people who never really worked for it, his dad seems like he worked and earned most of what he got but his kids are spoiled sorry excuses for human beings with very little respect or perspective in thier lives. He got what he had coming although a regular citizen woulda got a hrasher punishment, at least in Missouri that offense is much worse, FL is kinda lax on a lot of things. Too bad my department doesn't ever get to put scum like that in jail.

That's my 2 cents like it really matters

His BAC was equivalent to one or two beers, and the passenger being fucked up isnt wholey Nicks fault. Dude wasnt wearing his seatbelt, so I place the blame on the passenger more than the driver. We all know the consiquenses of getting in a fast car but we do it time and time again. When I got into suprahero or gixxer750s car in TX, I knew that there was a high possibility of going fast and possibly wrecking and getting hurt, that would have been on me not them.
Keep in mind that I am not sticking up for the kid, I can just see the other side of it. It seems like a just punishment, concidering that he has to live with playing a part in his friend a vegtable for the rest of his life.

When I said the punishment didn't fit the crime, I meant he got off easy. I haven't read the article yet, but I was told his FRIEND is going to be a vegetable the rest of his life. I don't think eight months in jail hardly makes up for that. I don't know what punishment would fit the crime, but that just doesnt seem like enough.

I agree...

The kid DID make the choice to get in the car, it's not like it was his son or something...

For all we know, the kid could have been pushing him to race...

the way I see it its like a unwriten waver saying if shit gets sour while we're driving you know the possibilities as your stepping into his car.

as mentioned, if I was hanging out with say one of you guys and we go for a ride for shits and grins and the worst happens, hey its sad to see and be involved in but I did step in the car. simple.

I don't think a seatbelt would've helped that guy much if at all.
Nick's going to jail, the Hulkster is gonna get it in civil court and some guy is now a veggie. Tragic all around.

A while back people were getting banned on SF for dissing Nick. I really don't see why this is such a touchy subject.

Well the reason why I said he shouldve gotten life is for one he was drunk driving and 2 he didnt just wreck a car he caused major bodily injury to his friend-he is a vegetable. And no offense he miles well be dead cause he cant do anything and its doubtul whethor or not he will come back to normal.

I think life wouldve been suitible knowing that this kid probably wont learn his lesson because your right his dad does help him indulge in things and its partly the parents fault. But 8 months while someone lays in a critical state of veggie status? I tell you what if that was me id be insanely pissed off while he gets 8 months in jail while I sit potentially the rest of my life as a vegetable and he gets to go back having fun. Just how I feel

I understand what you are saying however, it is law that the driver is responsible for their passengers putting their seatbelt on. So I hold Nick ultimately responsible not the passenger. And a BAC content isnt accurate in telling how drunk someone was. I could have the same BAC you do and be comletely drunk and youcould be sober. That is because different people have different tolerances to alcohol.

The driver drove drunk, the driver knew that his friend was not wearing a seatbelt, and he knew he was going too fast, and he knew the road conditions. The driver is responsible for everything.

Now yes everyone should have the personal responsibility to put their own seatbelt on but when it comes down to it the law is going to come down on the driver.
