Interesting weight story though. I was at RCTS here in town, Reg Reimers shop. Great guy and amazing shop by the way.

They had some BMW on the dyno doing a baseline and part testing and switch nothing but the rear wheels out for some light weight ones and saw a 45hp increase. Everyone was kind of surprised so just to be sure they switched the wheels back again and lost the 45. Back to lightweight and gained it back. I never would have guessed just wheel weight would be such a big change myself.
Shame that finding a decently wide set of magnesium wheels these days is such a hard thing to do...

Our FD S14 weighs 2640lbs with driver, LS3, and a half tank of gas.

No offense intended sir, and this may stem from my relative inexperience with the S13, but weren't they only something like 2750 lbs with the iron block KA that came in those here? Would think drastic dieting and an aluminum block engine would make it lighter than that... oh, WITH driver. Not terrible I guess, maybe they are fairly bare bones to begin with?

hehe :)

Today got some more done. Drive line shop had to order the front slip yoke so not going to be done until friday. Hate cutting crap close. Did a small burn out on the slicks and did some practice launches. I think Ill be able to leave the line with about 10-12 PSI with no spin issues.

Should be a very fun time at the track this time. Going to remove the exhaust tomorrow, do an oil change and change waste gate springs so I can run some more boost if needed. Then friday morning at 8 am off to the drive line shop for them to make the shaft. Should be done no later than noon and will have time to prep everything and do a once over on everything.

Well driveshaft shop got all the parts in, brining the car there at 8 am to have the shaft made and installed. They install it for the same price so Ill let them do the bitch work. Exhaust is already removed so all they have to remove is the two carrier bolts and the diff bolts.

We got bored and decided to replace the waste gate spring with a 14 psi one instead of the 8 PSI spring that was in it. I turned the boost up 10 more psi on top of that. Running 24 PSI it spins till 100mph with street tires. Im guessing 440HP to the wheels. It should be very interesting tomorrow ;)

No compressor surge and so far so good. The external waste gate is what keeps it all working! Now got a stock trans with my valve body holding 540HP at the crank!

We'll yesterday was eventful. Kept having traction problems even with the slicks, I was leaving the line with 14-16lbs but track prep sucked. Got 18 runs in yesterday. Even with all the traction problems I think I can still say I now hold the official CT26 powered mark 3 supra record on boost only with a shitty time of 11.8 @ 117 with a 1.848 60ft I actually made that run the first run of the night and continued being consistent 11.8's and 11.9's

However on my last run I lifted the head and blew 4 cylinders of the head gasket out. :p Got the car towed to the shop and going to start ripping it apart for a MHG and new ARP studs.

I think I was pushing my luck with 540HP @ the crank on a autozone felpro with 6 year old ARP bolts re used 5 times. Either way car ran strong yesterday and I beat the living hell out of it!

Video to come!

Holy wow, you didn't have a metal HG and you were still putting down that power and those times previously, hot damn man, I gotta say Im impressed even more now! When you slap the metal one on your gonna be invincible. Congrats on your new time as well. I think you are the record holder as far as I know anyways.

Good time, and a good clean kill on the HG! Nice to see it happen doin work and ending well instead of, "let my motor get to 330*, now i need a new head and bearings."

I heard it start missing on 1 cyl and shut it off immediately. Coasted back to the pits and checked it out. Stopped there and had it towed to the shop!
