I came in this thread hoping that you had seen the light and painted your car black but I see this is not the case. :(

That blue is not so bad though. :)

Jay your car STILL looks awesome! Your car is and has been giving me a chub since I first came across your thread.

I am getting new paint soon too and I was thinking of having a friend do it for around the same price you stated. I can only hope it turns out as nice as yours. But my car can only get better from where it is now, clear coat is shot, some minor cancer, chips, dings and a primered quarter panel, yuck.

Jay,

Man the Sup looks really nice, I've really got to get mine painted also it's starting to peel and crack really, really bad. What's the deal with Blake? I see you were having a time getting in touch with him..

I'm planning on the Houston trip, but I'm giving advance warning the ole grey mare won't be asthetically appealing as yours....LOL.

If you can PM your trip schedule so I can see if I can meet you guys somewhere along the route..

Oh, FYI for anyone that may have a Circuit City anywhere nearby I found a Directed Elect. glass break sensor for 9 bucks(new) at their going out of business sale. The had a lot of Directed modules and add on products, ie: remote window roll up, glass break sensors, remote start modules.

Car looks great Jay. Look forward to seeing it in person.

BTW, don't wax/polish your car ! You are suppose to wait 6 weeks.
I've already washed it, and I plan on buffing some of the clear coat runs out of it. If I mess it up, my painter will have to fix it for me. He's the one that put the runs in it to begin with. Bmghamsupra said they'll be easy to get out.

Hopefully your buddy will do you a nice job. I'm sure it'll turn out good if you help him and he takes his time. The guy that painted mine took a week to sand it down and fix dings and other things.

Thanks Mike. I don't know my schedule for Texas as of yet. I'll know more about it as we get closer. Don't worry about how your car looks. I just want a lot of MKIII's to show up. Last year we had a pretty good turnout and I'm sure it will be even bigger this year.

If it came out great, then you got a great deal! Your paint cost a fraction of what I paid for mine.
There's no doubt your car has a better paint job on it than mine does, but I'm still happy with mine. I can't wait to buff it out and make it shine even more.

Thanks for the sing along Duane, but this is a thread about my paintjob.........:biglaugh:

Didn't open up the bumper Reo to make the duct functional?

Yea or at the very least re-paint the exposed bumper support flat black. Looks good man, the wing and rear add ons really give it a more agressive look. Still haven't found a side skirt you like?

No, I kinda like the way it looks as is. I've seen other cars that I loved with side skirts, but I don't think they look that good on my car.

No sir. I'd never do that. I cut out the front bumper support when I installed it, but I didn't cut out the back of it. I'll need to do some cutting later, but I haven't done any as of yet.

Car looks great Jay(even for a gay blue garage job:sarcasm:)
If you're gonna buff it I suggest you don't let it sit too long,or it WILL buff hard.
Can you post close pics of the runs,I can give you some pointers on getting them out(trade secrets.)If you need.

Any plans to box in that member once you finish up the cutting?
