Hey here is another update. Put the turbo on and the intake. As well as the oil pump. Sadly tho the ARP main studs were to big so i had to put in an old one to make the pump fit.

Also for those lookin at gettin the DM turbo kit. Be ready to take the turbo apart. Had to pull the exhaust housing off in order to mount it otherwise the bolts wouldn't go it. Then had to loosen the compressor housing in order to rotate the middle turbine section to get the oil drain to properly line up.

Other then that, enjoy!

Oil pump Brand new for DM :)

I would ditch the cork and go with Toyota fipg for the oil pan. Im also not so sure two different main bolts is safe. Did you use ARP rod bolts?

Why did you replace the ARP stud with a stock one? I know they had problems with having longer studs at the oil pump but that was supposed to be fixed. Did you call Aaron and ask about it? I had friends who used ARP and never had that problem since two studs that came in the kit were a little shorter than the others.

Well we couldnt even get the pump in with the stud...didnt really notice a smaller one. And i also ordered the pump last summer and have had it since late july i think. So im sure i had one of the not fixed ones?? I didn't contact him about it but you guys think it'll be a big problem??
Also we used gasket sealer on the gasket

The timing cover needs to be decked with the block. If not the hg will not seal and it will deform the head. From your pictures it doesn't look like it was. You said you used cork and silicone?

I would pull that pan off and use FIPG or the right stuff gasket maker (basically the same) Also yeah if the front timing cover was not decked with the block, your going to have major problems

It will leak, Toyota does not use a Gasket from the factory.. They use FIPG (Form in place gasket) Ditch any type of "oil pan gasket" and use FIPG, you will thank yourself later :)

You will need to get the front timing plate milled with the block, needs to have the same amount taken off as the block.

Call Aaron and tell him about your main studs situation with the 7M. He has built my 7M's and will know. You currently have uneven torque using a stock main bolt and an ARP stud.

Toyota does not use any gasket on the oil pan. They use silicone, their own silicone. Toyota FIPG, it is sold at any Toyota dealer but will be cheaper if you buy it from DriftMotion if you don't have a commercial account with Toyota.

You should really take care care of the ARP main studs because I know I read a thread about a user having a problem with the kit and they supposedly fix it. The thread was on SupraForums.

Your kiddin me right? so the whole metal cover on front that attaches on the front needs to be machined? the same amount as off the top of the block?

And if i have to take that apart again then i will swap the stock bolt for the arp bolt thats in a differant place right now and will use the fipg.

Unfortunately:( Feel the block surface where it meets the cover, do you feel a step? If there is, your head is being held off of the block by that much, reducing clamping on the gasket where it matters. You are supposed to have it bolted to the block when it gets machined, but if you have forgotten you can measure the deck and figure out how much to get machined off of it.

If installed correctly it won't..... ;)

You DO have to take it apart again and by all means correct the issues pointed out or all you'll have built is a

Makes you wonder how 7M's were build before guidance from sites like this.

Cork works but many don't torque them correctly. Somewhere on this site is a how-to deck the cover off the block.

you mean have the cover machined separetly? is that safe to do? how do you measure it? can you file down the cover by hand?
